Roles and Responsibilities :

10-15 Year of relevant experience in procurement of Mechanical Equipment/Items/Machinery, E&I; items, Capex items and equipments, Spare items / project procurement preferably in a chemical or related industry

1. Negotiate optimum commercial terms

- Ensure best value through lifecycle cost analysis, not just lowest purchase price. Use Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) approaches in negotiations.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, payment milestones, warranties etc.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization.
- Use benchmarking, competitive bidding, and alternatives to reduce costs.

2. Tendering, RFQs, and Bid Management

- Prepare and issue RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs with detailed scope, technical specs, BOQ, and commercial terms.
- Lead structured bid evaluation, including:
- Technical evaluation (design, performance, reliability, lifecycle)
- Commercial evaluation (pricing, payment terms, warranties)

3. Project management and execution

- Track manufacturing progress, Factory Acceptance Test, dispatch, logistics, customs clearance, and site delivery.
- Ensure timely installation, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Test.
- Resolve disputes or delays with suppliers and project teams.
- Identify and manage risks during project execution
- Cross-functional collaboration with Projects and operations team

Supplier relationship and performance management

- Identify and pre-qualify suppliers globally for capital machinery, equipment, and turnkey solutions.
- Build long-term relationships with strategic OEMs and suppliers.
- Conduct market intelligence on technology trends, pricing, lead times, and supply risks.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, service responsiveness, and technical support.
- Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.

5. Translate technical/ Projects requirements into equipment specifications

- Collaborate with end-users (engineering, plant operations, Technical Services, project teams) to develop precise technical specifications.
- Standardize specifications where possible to reduce cost and complexity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements :

- B.Tech Mandatory Education Qualification required
- 10-15 years of experience in procurement in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industry or related company
- Robust knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, instruments, and spare parts used in the chemical manufacturing company.
- Excellent negotiation skills with ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost savings.
