Role & Responsibilities:

- Lead New Product Development (NPD) and mechanical design activities for WTG and large mechanical assemblies.

- Drive product development from concept, design and 3D modelling through prototype, validation and production implementation.

- Develop and review 3D models, large assemblies, 2D drawings, BOMs and engineering specifications using UG/NX.

- Lead design modifications, engineering changes and product improvements based on manufacturing, quality.

- Ensure designs meet requirements related to functionality, manufacturability, assembly, quality, reliability and cost.

- Work closely with Production, Manufacturing, Quality, PPC, SCM and Project teams for smooth implementation of new products.

- Support prototype development, trials, testing and design validation.

- Identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues through engineering solutions.

- Drive design optimization, standardization, cost reduction and continuous product improvement.

- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for development and validation of new components and assemblies.

- Review and control engineering drawings, BOMs, revisions and engineering change documentation.

- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, testing and product implementation.





- Lead and mentor the design/NPD team and establish effective design development processes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 10+ years of experience in NPD, Product Design, Mechanical Design or Design & Development.

- Strong hands-on experience in UG/NX / Siemens NX.

- Experience in Wind Energy, Energy, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Equipment, Capital Equipment or large engineering organizations preferred.

- Robust experience handling large/complex assemblies and mechanical products.

- Excellent understanding of 3D modelling, assembly design, 2D drawings, GD&T;, BOM and engineering change management.

- Experience in complete NPD/product development lifecycle, from concept/design to prototype, validation and production.

- Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA, manufacturability, assembly and design optimization.

- Experience working with cross-functional Manufacturing, Production, Quality, PPC, SCM and Engineering teams.

- Candidates from large-scale Energy / Heavy Engineering / Industrial Equipment / big-assembly manufacturing companies will be preferred.

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

- Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
