Qualification

Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Machine Tool Maintenance or equivalent.

Experience

10-15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing / machine tool maintenance, with experience in managing a maintenance team and preferably handling multiple manufacturing units.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge of CNC, VMC, HMC, VTL, Broaching and other machine tools.
2. Hands-on experience in spindle troubleshooting/repair, ball screw repair, LM guide inspection/replacement/alignment and machine alignment.
3. Working knowledge of CNC controllers, PLC, servo motors/drives, encoders, sensors, electrical panels, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
4. Knowledge of Panel AC systems and utility operations.
5. Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown analysis, RCA, MTTR and MTBF.
6. Critical spare planning, inventory control and maintenance cost management.
7. Vendor development/evaluation, costing, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiation and supplier coordination.
8. Working knowledge of ERP/SAP for maintenance activities, purchase and reporting.
9. Valuable working knowledge of Excel for MIS, data analysis and KPI monitoring.
10. Good working knowledge of PowerPoint for management presentations.
11. Good English communication, leadership and team-development skills.

Other Circumstances As required for the role,



the Manager - Maintenance may be required to support emergency breakdowns, new project activities, machine installation/commissioning, machine shifting and other critical maintenance activities across MMPL & MEPL.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall responsibility for maintenance activities across MMPL & MEPL, ensuring machine availability
2. Lead a team of 12–15 Technicians, Engineers and Sr. Engineers,
3. Planning of manpower allocation, performance, skills and discipline.
4. Reduce breakdown hours and ensure timely restoration of machines to support production.
5. Maintain machine reliability, availability and overall equipment condition.
6. Troubleshoot and maintain CNC, VMC, HMC, VTL, Broaching and other machine tools.
7. Plan and maintain critical spares to avoid prolonged machine downtime.
8. Prepare and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
9. Ensure regular cleaning, inspection, condition checks and maintenance checklists.
10. Handle troubleshooting/repair of spindles, ball screws, LM guides, servo motors/drives and encoders.
11. Troubleshoot PLCs, electrical panels, drives, sensors, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
12. Maintain Panel AC systems and utility equipment/services.

Conduct RCA for major and repetitive breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
14. Monitor and improve MTTR and MTBF performance.
15. Prepare maintenance MIS, KPIs and performance reports using SAP/ERP and Excel.
16. Maintain machine history, maintenance records, breakdown records, PM records and checklists.
17. Control maintenance spare inventory and ensure timely availability of critical items.
18. Raise and monitor maintenance purchase orders and ensure timely procurement.
19. Evaluate vendors, compare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and coordinate with suppliers.
20. Manage AMC, repair and service contracts with external agencies.
21. Control maintenance expenditure and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
22. Support new projects including machine selection, installation, commissioning, trials and stabilization.
23. Plan and execute machine shifting, installation, alignment, commissioning and recommissioning.
24. Support CAPEX planning and implementation related to maintenance and new projects.
25. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Development, Purchase and other functions for smooth operations.
26. Leverage group-unit resources, technical knowledge and best practices wherever required.
27. Ensure compliance with maintenance safety practices, LOTO requirements
28. Provide support during emergency breakdowns and critical maintenance situations.
29. Train and develop the maintenance team and build technical competency.
30. Identify and implement energy-saving and maintenance-efficiency improvement initiatives.
31. MIS of breakdown trends, MTTR/MTBF, cost, spares and improvement activities to management.
