Role & responsibilities The incumbent will be responsible for leading the end-to-end logistics function across multiple project sites and inwards material. Ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of materials and precast products. The role will focus on logistics planning, transportation management, risk mitigation, resource optimization, and system controls to maximize delivery reliability, support production capacity utilization, and achieve project execution milestones.

Familiarity with integrated precast production-to-site delivery planning.

Experience in managing logistics for high-rise residential and commercial developments.

Job Purpose

Experience in transportation of precast wall panels, slabs, beams, columns, staircases, and faade elements.

Exposure to large-scale real estate, infrastructure, metro, bridge, or precast projects preferred.

The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the movement of raw materials, precast elements, equipment, and finished products from suppliers and factories to project sites. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, safe, and efficient logistics operations while supporting project execution schedules and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Planning & Coordination

Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with project requirements.

Prepare transportation and delivery plans for precast elements, construction materials, and equipment.

Coordinate dispatch schedules with production, planning, and project execution teams.

Ensure timely movement of materials from factories to multiple project locations.

Transportation Management

Manage transport contractors, fleet operators, and logistics service providers.

Optimize vehicle utilization and route planning to reduce transportation costs.

Monitor vehicle availability, deployment, and turnaround times.

Ensure compliance with road transport regulations and statutory requirements.

Precast Logistics Management





Plan movement of large and heavy precast elements considering site constraints and erection schedules.

Coordinate lifting, loading, securing, and unloading activities.

Ensure availability of trailers, hydraulic axles, escort vehicles, and specialized transport equipment.

Monitor secure transportation of precast components without damage.

Warehouse & Yard Management

Oversee storage yards and inventory movement.

Ensure proper stacking, identification, and traceability of materials and precast products.

Implement material tracking systems and inventory controls.

Coordinate inward and outward material movement.

Cost Control & Budget Management

Monitor logistics costs against approved budgets.

Negotiate transportation contracts and vendor rates.

Identify opportunities for logistics optimization and cost reduction.

Generate periodic logistics performance and cost reports.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with L&T; HSE standards and statutory requirements.

Conduct risk assessments for transportation and heavy-load movements.

Ensure all transporters adhere to road safety regulations.

Investigate logistics incidents and implement corrective actions.

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with Production, Planning, Procurement, QA/QC, Projects, and EHS teams.

Coordinate with external agencies, transporters, police authorities, and municipal bodies for special movement permissions.

Support project teams in achieving delivery commitments.

Digital & MIS Management

Maintain logistics dashboards and KPI reports.

Track deliveries through GPS and logistics management software.

Analyse transportation performance and recommend improvements.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field

MBA/PG Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience

12-15 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, construction, infrastructure, or precast operations.

Experience in handling heavy and oversized cargo transportation.

Knowledge of hydraulic axle trailers, route surveys, and heavy-load permits.
