Junior Test Engineer / SDET (3-4 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Junior Test Engineer with a focus on payment systems (Wire, ACH, RTP, Cards) to join our banking technology team. The ideal candidate will combine functional testing expertise with solid automation capabilities, operating as an individual contributor in an SDET capacity.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute test cases for payment processing systems including Wire transfers, ACH transactions, RTP (Real-Time Payments), and Card payment flows
- Implement and maintain API automation frameworks using Karate or similar tools
- Develop and execute UI automation tests using Selenium for web applications
- Conduct performance testing using K6 or JMeter to validate system scalability and response times
- Work within Agile development teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test reports
- Identify, document, and track bugs through their resolution lifecycle using JIRA
- Support CI/CD processes by integrating automated tests with Jenkins pipelines
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and improve overall software quality

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3-4 years of experience in software testing, preferably in banking or financial services
- Demonstrated expertise in testing payment processing systems (Wire, ACH, RTP, Cards)
- Strong hands-on experience with API automation frameworks, particularly Karate
- Proficiency with Selenium for web UI automation testing




- Experience with performance testing tools such as K6 or JMeter
- Working knowledge of Git for version control
- Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins
- Proficiency in JIRA for issue tracking and test management
- Basic programming skills in at least one language (Java, JavaScript, Python)
- Understanding of RESTful API concepts and testing methodologies
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Knowledge of AI tools or concepts is required

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of banking compliance requirements as they relate to testing
- Experience with database testing (SQL)
- Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) practices
- Experience with microservices architecture testing
- Knowledge of security testing principles
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
