- Job Title- Java Backend Engineer – 2 HC

- Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid 3 Days onsite)

We are hiring a senior engineer to join our team focused on migrating Java applications from an Oracle backend to MongoDB. You will work across backend application code, data pipelines, sandbox environments, and production deployments. The role demands strong debugging skills, hands-on database expertise, and the ability to move fast in a structured delivery environment.

What you will be doing

- Migrate Java application logic from Oracle to MongoDB -rewriting queries, service layers, and data access code

- Debug and resolve failures across application, pipeline, and database layers

- Write and optimize SQL queries and translate them into MongoDB equivalents within the application

- Investigate handler and pipeline failures -identify root cause, patch, and verify fixes

- Manage and maintain dev, staging, and performance sandbox environments

- Participate in CI/CD pipeline management -deployments, migration scripts, and environment automation

- Collaborate with architects and QA teams to validate data integrity and application performance

- Support production cutover activities and post-migration monitoring

Must-have skills

- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering

- Strong Java development -Spring Boot, REST APIs, backend services

- Solid SQL skills -complex queries, joins, transactions, query optimization

- Hands-on experience with Oracle as a production database

- Working knowledge of MongoDB -document modelling, indexing, aggregation

- Experience debugging distributed systems and data pipeline failures

- Comfortable with CI/CD tools -Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent

- Experience managing or working across multiple sandbox environments





- Aware/ know how to use AI Tools like Claude, Chatgpt Codex , Copilot or cline.

Good to have

- Prior involvement in an application migration or modernization project

- Familiarity with ETL or CDC tools -Debezium, GoldenGate, or similar

- Python scripting for pipeline or automation tasks

- Experience with MongoDB Atlas or any managed database monitoring tool

- Exposure to cloud platforms -AWS, GCP, or Azure
