About The Job:

- The IAM SME (Microsoft) will have overall technical design authority for the operational security model within the Microsoft suite of security products, delivering plans on understood and emerging threats while developing strategies for future security evolution using leading-edge technologies.
- This role will provide technical leadership across Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory environments, ensuring security strategies, governance, operational controls, and architecture designs align with secure-by-design principles and enterprise cybersecurity objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

Leadership (Approx. 20%)

- Define and implement a global operational security strategy across Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory environments.
- Establish thought leadership on emerging identity and security concepts to address future threat landscapes.
- Lead project design discussions related to identity, access management, and security architecture.
- Provide technical direction and strategic guidance on enterprise IAM initiatives.
- Drive security best practices and governance standards across Microsoft identity platforms.

Microsoft Security Strategy (Approx. 80%)
- Strategic Design: Conceptualize future security requirements across Microsoft technologies and develop a roadmap that aligns with Secure-by-Design principles.
- Project Support: Represent the Identity & Access Management function during project planning, architecture reviews, and security design discussions.
- Entra ID / Active Directory Role Architecture: Act as technical lead for enterprise role design, application roles, privileged access models, and complex authorization strategies.
- Security Reporting: Produce management reporting, security assessments, and risk analyses with actionable recommendations for control improvements.
- Break-Glass Solution Oversight:



Manage break-glass account governance, oversight, monitoring, usage reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce emergency access dependency.
- External Audit Support: Lead IAM-related responses for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and evidence requirements are met.
- Provide guidance on identity governance, privileged access management, role-based access control (RBAC), and access lifecycle management.
- Support security modernization initiatives involving Microsoft security technologies and cloud identity services.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, architecture, compliance, and application teams to enhance identity security posture.
- Drive continuous improvement of security controls, governance frameworks, and IAM operating models.

Qualifications:

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity with strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical authority, architecture, or strategic leadership role.
- Proven experience defining and driving enterprise security strategies.
- Experience managing security programs and influencing cross-functional business and technology teams.
- Robust background in enterprise IAM, access governance, and directory services.
- Experience leading security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance requirements.

Certifications
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
- Microsoft Security and Identity Certifications.
- Additional Microsoft Azure / Entra ID certifications are highly desirable.
