Job Title: SQF & Furnace Maintenance Engineer / Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance of SQF (Sealed Quench Furnace) and Heat Treatment Furnaces, ensuring maximum equipment availability, process reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle maintenance of SQF, mesh belt furnace, batch furnace, tempering furnace, washing machines, quenching systems and associated equipment.
- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of heat treatment equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC-related issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot burners, heating elements, thermocouples, temperature controllers, sensors and control panels.
- Handle quenching, oil circulation, cooling tower, pumps, agitators and filtration systems.
- Monitor and maintain furnace temperature uniformity and process control systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, SSR, contactors, relays and instrumentation.
- Maintain furnace atmosphere control systems, gas lines, flow meters and related safety interlocks.
- Plan and execute PM schedules, shutdown maintenance and major overhauling activities.
- Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Maintain maintenance records,



breakdown reports, spare-parts inventory and equipment history.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Process teams for smooth heat treatment operations.
- Ensure compliance with 5S, safety standards, LOTO and statutory requirements.
- Support current furnace installation, commissioning and modification activities.
- Lead technicians and maintenance team during breakdowns and planned maintenance.

Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics
- Experience in Heat Treatment Furnace / SQF maintenance preferred.

Experience
- 5–15+ years in industrial maintenance.
- Experience in SQF / carburizing furnace / hardening & tempering / heat treatment equipment is preferred.
