Role Description The HR Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar, responsible for overseeing all human resources activities for Oberai Bakers & Cafe. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes, as well as maintaining HR policies, records, and compliance with local labor regulations.

The HR Manager will handle employee relations, performance management, and grievance resolution, while promoting a fair, inclusive, and safe work environment. This role will also coordinate training and development initiatives, oversee attendance and payroll inputs, and partner with management to support workforce planning and organizational growth.



The HR Manager is expected to work closely with operations and leadership to ensure HR practices align with business needs and company values.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, workplace health and safety, and compliance requirements relevant to the hospitality or retail sector.
- Proficiency in HR documentation, HRIS or HR-related software, and accurate handling of attendance and payroll-related data.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
- Ability to design and implement training, engagement, and retention initiatives that support staff development and morale.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; skilled HR certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist, preferably in food service, hospitality, or retail, is highly beneficial.
