Role & responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll for on-roll and off-roll/contract employees.
- Validate attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, deductions, and salary inputs before payroll processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and other statutory deductions, challans, and deposits.
- Coordinate with contractors/manpower vendors for wage sheets, attendance, invoices and statutory documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory, labour and statutory laws and maintain required registers and records.
- Prepare and track monthly/annual statutory returns, challans, licences and compliance documentation.
- Monitor contract labour compliance, including wages, statutory contributions, licences and registers.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits/checks, identify gaps and ensure timely corrective action.
- Maintain compliance trackers, MIS, payroll reports and variance reports for management review.
- Coordinate with Production, Finance, Admin, EHS, Security and other departments for payroll and compliance requirements.
- Support factory inspections, labour department visits, audits, notices, and documentation.
- Resolve employee payroll and statutory-related queries within defined timelines.
- Ensure proper documentation, record maintenance, and audit readiness for all payroll and compliance activities.
- Track changes in labour laws, statutory requirements, and applicable factory regulations and support implementation.
Preferred candidate profile
- 5- 7 years of relevant experience in Payroll, Factory HR, Statutory Compliance, or HR Operations.
- Hands-on experience in factory/manufacturing HR with strong exposure to statutory and labour compliance.
- Experience handling on-roll and off-roll/contractual manpower payroll.
- Strong practical knowledge of PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Minimum Wages, CLRA, and applicable labour laws.
- Experience in managing monthly challans, statutory returns, annual returns, and compliance documentation.
- Exposure to contractor/manpower vendor compliance and verification of statutory records.
- Experience in factory inspections, compliance audits, notices, and labour department coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, payroll systems/HRMS, and MIS reporting.
- Candidates from EMS, electronics, mobile manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments will be preferred.
- Strong analytical, documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced factory workplace and manage multiple compliance activities within strict timelines.
