Position: Head – Investment Back Office

Reporting To: CFO

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 8–15 years

Role Overview:

Lead Investment Back Office operations for an insurance organisation, ensuring smooth investment settlements, accounting, reconciliations, controls, regulatory compliance and cash management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead investment operations and settlement across G-Secs, corporate bonds, money market instruments, mutual funds, equities and alternative investments.
- Drive selection and implementation of investment accounting and portfolio management systems.
- Strengthen operational controls, maker-checker processes, automation and process improvements.
- Oversee investment accounting, including accruals, amortisation, income and realised gains/losses.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of investment records with custodian, bank and GL statements.




- Manage quarterly and annual investment-related financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable investment regulations and support audits/regulatory inspections.
- Monitor investment cash balances and coordinate liquidity requirements with Finance and Front Office teams.
- Manage custodians and external service providers and ensure business continuity/DR processes.

Candidate Profile:

- 8–15 years of experience in Insurance Investment Back/Mid Office.
- Strong understanding of fixed-income markets and insurance investments.
- Good knowledge of investment accounting and portfolio management systems.
- Solid understanding of insurance investment regulations and controls.
- Strong reconciliation and operational control mindset.
- Experience managing custodians and external service providers.
