Position Summary

USMICRO is seeking a Software Engineering Practice Head – BFSI to lead the hands-on design, architecture, development, and delivery of scalable BFSI software solutions and platforms.

The role will drive end-to-end engineering excellence, lead multi-site implementations, build high-performing engineering teams, and establish GCCs, ODCs, and distributed delivery capabilities. The incumbent will also lead BFSI sales and business development, manage customer relationships, and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on software engineering leader with deep BFSI domain expertise, strong engineering and people leadership capabilities, and proven customer-facing experience. Over time, the role will assume responsibility for the BFSI business unit P&L.;

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the hands-on design, development, and architecture of scalable BFSI software solutions and platforms, ensuring strong engineering, security, scalability, and performance.

•Own the complete product and solution lifecycle, from requirements, architecture, and development through testing, deployment, implementation, customer adoption, and support.

•Deliver BFSI products and solutions to multiple customers, including multi-site and geographically distributed customers, with consistent quality, configurability, and delivery predictability.

•Build, launch, and scale GCCs, ODCs, and distributed engineering and delivery centres for BFSI product development and customer delivery.

•Build and lead high-performing teams across engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, delivery, and consulting,



while acting as a solid people manager and developing future leaders.

•Manage the performance of the BFSI sales and business-development function, including pipeline, customer acquisition, strategic pursuits, account growth, and revenue generation.

•Build and maintain relationships with BFSI customers and senior stakeholders, supporting solution discussions, proposals, executive reviews, negotiations, escalations, and customer success.

•Partner with sales, delivery, finance, talent, and operations teams to improve business growth, delivery quality, customer satisfaction, utilisation, and operating discipline.

•Progressively take ownership of the BFSI business unit P&L;, including revenue, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, cost management, and operating efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

•B.Tech from an IIT is mandatory.

Required Experience The candidate must have 15–18 years of post-qualification experience in software engineering, technology services, digital engineering, consulting, or a related technology leadership environment.

• BFSI Product Engineering: Proven hands-on experience designing, developing, architecting,



and delivering BFSI software solutions.

• End-to-End Product Delivery: Experience owning the complete product and solution lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, deployment, implementation, customer adoption, and support.

• Multi-Customer Delivery: Demonstrated experience delivering software products or solutions to multiple customers, including multi-site, geographically distributed, or onsite-offshore customer environments.

• GCC and ODC Leadership: Experience building, launching, or scaling GCCs, ODCs, or distributed engineering and delivery centres.

• Large-Scale Team Building: Proven experience building, managing, and scaling a team of 100+ employees across engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, delivery, and consulting.

• People Leadership: Strong people-management skills, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and team engagement.

• Sales and Business Development: Experience managing BFSI sales or business-development performance, building pipelines, acquiring customers, expanding strategic accounts, and contributing directly to revenue growth.

• Customer and Commercial Leadership: Strong experience engaging with BFSI CXOs and senior stakeholders on solutioning, proposals, negotiations, delivery governance, escalations, and customer success.

• P&L; Readiness: Demonstrated commercial understanding with the ability to progressively assume responsibility for BFSI business unit P&L.;
