Role Summary
We are hiring a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) to join our Production Planning & Control (PPC) team. This is an entry-level, office-based planning role in a heavy machine building environment. As a trainee, you will be trained to interpret technical engineering drawings, manage Bill of Materials (BOM), execute Material Requirement Planning (MRP), and coordinate manufacturing workflows. This is a pure planning role and does not involve shop-floor production execution or supervisory duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn & Support: Assist senior planners in preparing detailed production schedules and manufacturing sequences.
- Drawing & BOM Analysis: Learn to accurately read engineering drawings and convert them into structured ERP data.
- Material Tracking: Support Material Requirement Planning (MRP) by checking component availability with inventory and stores.
- System Updates: Update and maintain BOMs, routings, and progress tracking data in the ERP system.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:
Follow up on timelines with production, quality, purchasing, and subcontract vendors.
- Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly Excel-based production progress reports.
Core Requirements:
- Education: Recent graduate with a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Technical Basics: Strong fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly).
- Skills: Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Aptitude: Strong willingness to learn complex industrial planning systems (ERP/MRP).
- Commitment: Ready to sign a 3-year service agreement/bond upon joining.
