Maximum CTC- 30 Lakhs per Annum

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager – Purchase with solid expertise in Plastic Injection Molding and Plastic Raw Materials.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s procurement and sourcing strategy, managing strategic suppliers, driving cost optimisation, developing new vendors, supporting localisation initiatives, and managing both domestic and international sourcing/imports.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of engineering plastics, commodity plastics, additives, masterbatches and other raw materials used in plastic injection molding, along with excellent negotiation and supplier management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Sourcing

- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for plastic raw materials, components and indirect materials.
- Identify and evaluate new domestic and international suppliers.
- Drive supplier consolidation and category management initiatives.
- Develop long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business requirements.
- Monitor commodity and raw-material price movements and market trends.

- Plastic Raw Material Procurement

- Solid understanding of PP, ABS, PC, PA, POM, PBT, PMMA, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon, TPE/TPU and engineering polymers.
- Knowledge of recycled and virgin plastic materials and their commercial implications.
- Evaluate material specifications, grades, applications and alternate sources.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQ, lead times and commercial agreements.

- Imports & International Sourcing

- Manage sourcing and procurement from international suppliers.
- Strong understanding of import procurement processes, documentation, logistics and landed-cost calculations.
- Develop overseas supplier networks for plastics and related materials.
- Evaluate international suppliers based on quality, cost,



capacity and delivery performance.
- Work closely with logistics and finance teams to optimise import costs.

- Costing & Cost Optimisation

- Develop and validate product and raw-material costing.
- Analyse should-cost, conversion cost, material cost and landed cost.
- Drive annual cost-reduction initiatives.
- Identify alternate materials, suppliers and processes to improve margins.
- Conduct price benchmarking and market intelligence.
- Negotiate annual rate contracts and long-term commercial agreements.

- Localisation

- Develop and execute localisation strategies for imported materials/components.
- Identify capable Indian suppliers for localisation opportunities.
- Conduct commercial and capability assessments of potential suppliers.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams for localisation trials.
- Reduce dependency on imports while maintaining quality and cost competitiveness.

- Supplier Development & Vendor Development

- Identify, qualify and develop recent suppliers.
- Build a strong and reliable supplier base for critical materials.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits and performance reviews.
- Work with suppliers to improve capacity, quality and delivery performance.
- Develop alternate sources for critical materials to minimise supply-chain risks.

- Purchase Operations

- Lead the complete procurement function and ensure uninterrupted availability of materials.
- Establish appropriate inventory and procurement strategies.
- Develop annual procurement budgets and monitor procurement spend.
- Ensure timely release and closure of purchase orders.
- Establish and monitor procurement KPIs.





- Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Production, Quality, R&D;, Engineering, Finance, Stores and Logistics.
- Support new product development through early supplier involvement.
- Participate in supplier selection and commercial evaluation for new projects.
- Ensure procurement decisions support production, quality and profitability objectives.

Educational Qualification

BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Polymer, Plastics, Production, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Operations will be an added advantage.
