Role Overview

BlueDrop Waters is looking for an experienced General Manager – Engineering, to lead multi-disciplinary engineering delivery across the company's water and wastewater EPC projects. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the CTO, responsible for building and running the company's engineering design function — process, civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation — as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

- Own engineering design standards and quality across all disciplines for water and wastewater treatment EPC projects
- Build and lead engineering teams across Process, Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines, including career pathways from graduate engineer through to senior/lead levels
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary design interfaces on live projects, ensuring civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process design come together cleanly
- Run the design QA/review cycle, driving down rework and design errors
- Represent Engineering in project kick-offs, design reviews, and client-facing technical discussions
- Allocate engineering resources and workload across live projects and active proposals
- Partner with the Proposal Engineering team on technical inputs for recent bids




- Support the integration of R&D; and innovation outputs into live project designs
- Build and mentor a graduate engineer trainee pipeline within the engineering function

Requirements

- 12–18 years of experience in multi-disciplinary engineering design within the water/wastewater treatment or broader EPC/infrastructure sector
- At least 5 years of experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams, ideally within an EPC contractor or engineering consultancy
- Demonstrated track record delivering engineering design across multiple concurrent EPC projects, not just a single large project
- Working knowledge of Indian water/wastewater design codes and treatment technologies; familiarity with nature-based or remediation-based approaches is a plus
- Proficiency with relevant design and review tools (e.g. AutoCAD/Civil3D, process simulation software, electrical SLD tools)
- Experience building or running a structured graduate engineer / campus-hire pipeline is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus
- Strong people leadership skills and the confidence to represent the company credibly with clients on technical matters
