Essential Job Functions:

- Become a member of the cloud networking team, taking on proactive elements of networking within Operations.

- Serve as the interface between the SRE team and Networking Engineering team.

- Advise and mentor network specialists within the SRE team and serve as a point of escalation.

- Engage and communicate effectively with multiple parties during changes and complex, multi-tiered projects.

- Review and operate current monitoring systems and make recommendations based on identified gaps.

- Review and operate device management strategies and recommend improvements based on identified gaps.

- Perform ongoing analysis of CMDB and monitoring system data to ensure data hygiene and appropriate alert thresholds.

- Validate that alarms are present and correctly configured in the NOC Console.

- Own and drive testing and implementation projects received from the Network Architecture team.

- Partner with Data Center and Operations teams to plan and execute software code upgrades and device maintenance.

- Transition new platforms and services from Engineering into Operations.





- Develop and maintain automation to ensure devices are configured and operating within defined standards.

- Develop and maintain automation to investigate and resolve network alerts and issues.

- Develop and maintain internal tools to support network infrastructure operations at scale.

- Provide feedback to the CNS team on architecture, design decisions, tools, and automation.

- Review alarms generated by monitoring tools and identify areas for improvement or enhancement.

- Provide feedback to Infrastructure and Development teams to improve overall service quality and reliability.

- Own and drive specific tasks or projects identified by the Network Engineering team.

Qualifications

Skills

- Solid foundation in networking, including routing, switching, security, and load balancing.

- Proven experience working in an industry-leading Operations organization.

- Background in or exposure to software development, scripting, automation, and SDLC.

- Solid understanding and experience with 802.1q, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, MCLAG, BGP, NAT, ACLs, IPSEC, and SNMP.

- Knowledge of MPLS is a plus.

- Deep hands-on experience with TCP/IP, including common packet headers and protocol inner workings.

- Deep hands-on experience with routing protocols including BGP, ISIS, and OSPF.

- Solid knowledge and experience with Juniper JunOS.

- Knowledge or experience with Cisco IOS is a plus.

- Knowledge and experience with F5 load balancers.

- In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting and monitoring tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark.

- Software development and scripting skills using Python,



Ansible, and JavaScript.

- SDLC exposure, including Agile methodologies.

- Basic Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting knowledge is a plus.

- Knowledge and experience with Cumulus Linux is a plus.

- JNCIE or CCIE certification is preferred.

Education

- BS or equivalent working experience.
