About the Role

We are looking for a Gamification Designer / Developer to design and develop straightforward, engaging, and child-friendly digital games and gamified learning experiences.

This is not a traditional Unity/Unreal game-development role. The majority of the experiences will be lightweight interactive games that can be developed using standard frontend technologies.

The role will primarily focus on game design, gamification, child-friendly UX, rewards, progression, motivation, and user engagement, with the ability to prototype and implement interactive experiences.

Roles And Responsibilities

- Design simple, engaging, and educational digital games and interactive experiences for children.

- Convert educational activities and learning concepts into engaging game mechanics.

- Design gamification systems including points, stars, badges, levels, streaks, rewards, and unlockable content.

- Create clear progression, difficulty, retry, success, and failure flows.

- Design intuitive, age-appropriate, and child-friendly user experiences with strong visual and interactive feedback.

- Prototype and implement lightweight interactive games using frontend technologies.

- Collaborate closely with Frontend, Product, Design, and Content teams to develop engaging experiences.

- Analyze user behaviour, feedback, and engagement data to continuously improve game experiences.

- Balance engagement and motivation while ensuring that game mechanics are healthy, age-appropriate, and not dependent on addictive patterns.

- Contribute ideas for new game mechanics, interactive learning experiences, and gamification features.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong understanding of game design and gamification principles.

- Good understanding of UX, interaction design, and child-friendly digital experiences.

- Understanding of key game-design concepts,



including:

- Core game loops

- Rewards and progression

- Difficulty balancing

- Player motivation

- Feedback systems

- Retention and engagement

- Hands-on experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript / TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.

- Ability to rapidly prototype and develop interactive digital experiences.

- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to understand educational objectives and translate them into engaging game mechanics.

Good To Have

- Experience developing educational games, learning applications, or EdTech products.

- Knowledge of child psychology, learning design, or child-centric UX.

- Experience with Phaser.js, HTML5 Canvas, SVG, or animation libraries.

- Experience with Figma or other interaction-prototyping tools.

- A portfolio demonstrating games, gamified products, educational experiences, or interactive digital projects.

- Experience working with product, frontend, design, and content teams.

What We Are Not Looking For

This role does not require advanced expertise in Unity, Unreal Engine, 3D graphics, complex physics, or AAA game development.

We are more interested in a candidate who can think creatively about the following question:

“How can we make a simple learning activity genuinely fun, engaging, and meaningful for a child?”
