The role

You’ll own the whole Samayo codebase: backend, web frontend, AI chat, payments and infrastructure. You’ll also build our Android and iOS apps in React Native, using the existing API. It’s a small team where you’ll build, ship, deploy and fix things when they break.

What you’ll doBackend and AI

- Own and extend the FastAPI (Python) backend: APIs, the Postgres schema and migrations, auth, caching and rate limiting.
- Improve the AI features: streaming chat (SSE), prompts, routing between LLM providers, token cost tracking and fallbacks.
- Maintain integrations with Razorpay, MSG91 (OTP SMS and WhatsApp), Resend, Google Maps and Google Sheets.

Web

- Own the web app: a mobile-first, plain-JavaScript PWA with a multi-step onboarding funnel, streaming AI chat, Razorpay checkout and consultation booking.
- Build and tune the marketing funnel: landing pages tailored to each ad, GTM and Meta Pixel events, and A/B tests to improve conversion.
- Keep the web app fast and reliable on low-end Android phones, slow networks and in-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook).

Mobile

- Build and ship the React Native apps for Android and iOS, with the same features as the web app: onboarding, birth-chart readings, streaming AI chat, wallet and consultation booking.
- Manage Play Store and App Store releases, push notifications, deep links, in-app payments and crash monitoring.
- Turn designs into polished, animated screens on web and mobile.

Infrastructure and quality

- Run infrastructure on AWS: deployments, Docker services, managed Postgres and Redis, monitoring and cost control. Set up CI/CD.
- Write tests for the backend and frontend, review code and keep documentation up to date.

Must have

- 2–4 years of professional development, with apps you’ve shipped to production.
- Strong Python and hands-on FastAPI (or Django/Flask), including async code.
- React Native, with at least one app published on the Play Store or App Store.




- Strong JavaScript (ES6+, modules, DOM, async code) that doesn’t depend on a framework. TypeScript and React fundamentals.
- Solid HTML and CSS: responsive, mobile-first layouts, animations, cross-browser fixes.
- Streaming APIs in the browser (SSE or fetch streams), and safe rendering of user and AI content without XSS holes.
- Web performance basics: Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, testing on real devices.
- PostgreSQL (schema design, migrations, query tuning) and Redis.
- Hands-on AWS: EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch. Docker.
- REST API design, JWT and OTP auth, and third-party APIs and webhooks.
- Git and GitHub, pull-request workflow, CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
- Can work independently and communicate clearly.

Positive to have

- Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Gemini): streaming, prompt engineering, cost optimisation.
- Three.js or WebGL, and React Native animation libraries (Reanimated, Skia).
- Conversion work: GTM, Meta Pixel, link tracking parameters, A/B testing.
- Razorpay integration, and Apple/Google in-app billing rules.
- Expo/EAS, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Sentry.
- Frontend testing (Jest, Playwright) and PWA features (service workers, offline support).
- Supabase, Railway, Vercel, and Terraform or AWS CDK.
- numpy/pandas, Hindi/Devanagari typography, or an interest in Vedic astrology.
