About Texara

Texara is building the operating system for interior design firms. We started with the most manual part of a designer's day, which is finding, specifying and sampling materials, and we are extending into how firms run their projects, teams and clients. The platform is live and in use by design firms across India, the UAE and Hong Kong.

Role Overview

We are hiring our first full time engineer. You will own the live platform from your first week: the web app, the database behind it, the catalog and search pipeline, and the internal tools our team runs on. Real users, real deploys, real decisions.

This role is for someone who wants to own a product end to end, not work through a ticket queue.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and extend our live web platform
- Design APIs and data models in PostgreSQL, and keep them clean as the product grows
- Build and improve our AI features across search, embeddings and visualisations
- Make image heavy screens feel quick across thousands of high resolution material photos
- Ship to production with confidence, using tests, reviews and careful deploys
- Set the bar for code review, testing and documentation, and grow into technical leadership as the team grows around you
- Work directly with the founder and with practising interior designers, and turn what you learn into the next release
- Lay the foundations for our mobile experience





Ideal Candidate Profile

- 3 to 6 years building and shipping production web applications
- Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js (App Router, server components)
- Real backend depth: API design, PostgreSQL, and thinking in data models
- Fluent with AI coding tools, and you know when not to trust them
- Strong debugging instincts under production pressure
- Comfortable owning decisions without a large team around you
- Care for craft. Our users are designers, and they notice

Strongly Preferred

- Applied AI and computer vision: image embeddings, vector search (pgvector or similar) and vision models via API. You have shipped a feature that uses them
- Performance work on image heavy interfaces

Nice to Have

- Experience in vertical SaaS, or software built for one industry
- Supabase, Drizzle or Vercel
- Canvas or graphics work, such as Konva
- Mobile web or React Native
- A background in design tools, catalogs, ecommerce or marketplaces
