Marklytics · Hybrid, Chennai 3–5 years experience
About the role
Marklytics builds Digital Product Passport (DPP) infrastructure for manufacturers preparing for EU regulatory compliance. Our platform issues verifiable product passports for batteries, solar modules and vehicles, and serves enterprise manufacturing clients across the UK, India and Southeast Asia. We're hiring a full-stack engineer whose strongest area is AWS.
What you will own
- Cloud infrastructure: design, build and run our AWS environments across development, staging and production, fully defined as code in AWS CDK or Terraform
- Release engineering: CI/CD pipelines, release management and controlled promotion between environments, so passport updates reach clients safely and predictably
- Observability and incident response: structured logging, metrics, tracing and alerting that let us answer "what happened, and when?" whenever a client or auditor asks
- Cost and efficiency: monitor and report infrastructure spend, and keep the cost of issuing and serving each passport under control as volumes grow
- Backend services: APIs, data models, background jobs and integration endpoints that take in manufacturer and supplier data and turn it into compliant, verifiable passports
- Frontend delivery: features on the Marklytics platform and on public passport pages that consumers, recyclers and regulators reach by scanning a QR code
- Security and data integrity: IAM, network isolation, secrets management and tenant separation across our enterprise client environments
What we expect
- Deployed, operated and supported production services on AWS yourself, without relying on a separate DevOps team
- Written infrastructure as code for production systems, and can explain the reasoning behind your design choices
- Built and shipped production web applications end to end, from database schema to user interface
- Diagnosed and resolved a production issue that could not be reproduced locally
- Worked with relational databases beyond basic CRUD, including indexing, schema migrations and query performance tuning
Required
- 3–5 years of professional full-stack engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on AWS work
- AWS: ECS or Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch and VPC networking fundamentals
- Infrastructure as code: AWS CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions or an equivalent pipeline tool
- Backend: Node.js with TypeScript, or Python; REST API design; PostgreSQL
- Frontend: React with TypeScript, with the ability to own a feature from schema to screen
- Engineering practice: disciplined use of Git, active participation in code review, and automated testing as standard practice
- Communication: solid written English. You'll write architecture decisions, incident reports and client-facing updates, so clarity matters as much as the code.
Nice to have
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms for enterprise clients
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, ESG or regulatory compliance, particularly the EU Battery Regulation or ESPR
- Data pipeline or ETL experience, especially with inconsistent supplier or ERP data
- Familiarity with cryptographic signing, hashing, verifiable credentials or tamper-evident data structures
- AWS certification, valued as supporting evidence alongside hands-on experience
Why join
- Competitive package: strong compensation for the role and experience level
- Health insurance, plus additional insurance cover
- Startup environment: a small team where you own real systems, see your work reach enterprise clients directly, and help shape how the platform and engineering practices grow
