About the role
This is a high-ownership seat next to the founder of a fast-growing AI marketing company working in Generative Engine Optimisation — the discipline of making brands the answer that AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude give when people ask a question.
The category is roughly three years old. We work with listed companies, hospitals, defence manufacturers, luxury houses, law firms and global consumer brands across India, the US and Southeast Asia. There is no established playbook, which is exactly what makes this interesting.
You will not have a narrow . You'll work on whatever is most key that week — which could be a client proposal on Monday, a hiring process on Wednesday and a pricing model on Friday.
What you'll actually do
- Client strategy and proposals — research prospects, build audits and scope documents, and prepare the commercial proposals the founder takes into rooms
- Business development support — prepare for pitches, handle follow-ups, and manage the pipeline so nothing goes cold
- Special projects — new product definition, market research, partnership evaluation, pricing structures
- Internal systems — help build the processes, templates and trackers that let delivery scale without breaking
- Hiring and team building — draft roles, screen candidates, run first-round conversations
- Meeting follow-through — capture what was decided, convert it into actions, and make sure those actions actually close
- Anything else that needs an owner — genuinely
What we're looking for
- 2–5 years of experience — consulting, investment banking, startup operations, strategy, or a founder's office elsewhere.
Strong recent graduates from top institutions with real internship depth will also be considered
- Exceptional written English. You will write a great deal — proposals, emails, documents that go to CXOs of large companies
- Structured thinking. You can take something ambiguous and turn it into a clear plan
- Genuine research ability. You check facts, notice when two sources disagree, and don't assume
- Comfort with ambiguity and pace. Priorities shift; you need to be the kind of person who finds that energising rather than destabilising
- Real ownership instinct. Nobody will chase you. Things you own should close
What will make you stand out
- Hands-on familiarity with AI tools as working instruments, not novelties
- Exposure to B2B sales, agency or consulting environments
- Financial literacy — you can build a pricing model or read a company's results
- Experience working directly with senior leadership
What this job is not
- It is not a coordination or note-taking role. You'll be expected to have views and defend them
- It is not narrowly defined. If you need a fixed remit to do your best work, this will frustrate you
- It is not a comfortable 10-to-6. The pace is real, and so is the learning
Why take it
You'll sit at the centre of a company in a category that barely exists yet, with unusual visibility into how clients are won, priced and kept. The exposure is far broader than an equivalent-level role at a larger firm — you'll see the whole business rather than one function of it.
For the right person, this is a role that compounds quickly.
