Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to take ownership of the company's financial planning, reporting, controls, cash flow, and accounting operations.

The role will work closely with the Founder/Management, Operations, Sales, Procurement,

and Project Teams to ensure strong financial controls, healthy cash flows, accurate project profitability, timely collections, and disciplined vendor payments.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in a project-based or construction/interiors/real-estate environment, where financial management involves multiple ongoing projects, customer collections, vendor payments, material procurement,

project-level costing, and working-capital management.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Planning & MIS
- Own weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting and MIS.
- Prepare and present financial dashboards covering revenue, collections, expenses,

margins, cash flow, and profitability.
- Develop project-wise and company-level P&L; reporting.
- Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts and highlight key variances.
- Provide management with actionable financial insights for business decisions.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Project Finance & Profitability
- Establish and monitor project-wise financial performance and profitability.
- Track project revenue, material costs, labour costs, subcontractor costs, overheads,

and other project expenses.
- Monitor project budgets against actual expenditure and identify cost overruns early.
- Work with Project Managers and Operations to improve project margins and cost controls.
- Ensure revenue recognition, project billing, and cost allocation are accurate and timely.
- Develop mechanisms to track contribution margins across projects and locations.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Take ownership of the company's cash-flow planning and working-capital management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts.
- Closely monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables.
- Work with Sales and Project teams to ensure collections happen as per agreed payment milestones.
- Plan vendor payments based on cash-flow requirements and business priorities.




- Maintain healthy working capital while ensuring critical vendors and projects are adequately supported.
- Identify potential cash-flow gaps and proactively flag them to management.
- Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Monitor customer receivables, ageing, and overdue payments.
- Establish clear collection processes and escalation mechanisms.
- Track project-wise billing and collection milestones.
- Coordinate with Sales and Project teams on pending customer payments.
- Ensure customer advances and project payments are accurately accounted for and reconciled.
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Oversee vendor and contractor payments and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
- Establish financial controls around purchase orders, invoices, goods receipts, and payment approvals.
- Monitor vendor outstanding and ageing.
- Ensure payments are aligned with contractual terms and project cash flows.
- Identify opportunities to improve payment terms and working capital.
- Accounting, Compliance & Controls
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and ensure books are maintained accurately and on time.
- Ensure timely GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and external advisors.
- Manage monthly and annual financial closures.
- Ensure timely bank, ledger, customer, and vendor reconciliations.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and approval processes.
- Identify financial risks, control gaps, and potential leakages and recommend corrective measures.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Build robust SOPs and approval workflows for finance-related processes.
- Establish controls around procurement, project expenses, reimbursements, petty cash, and payments.
- Implement systems to minimise financial leakages, errors, and unauthorised expenditure.
- Drive automation and digitisation of finance processes wherever possible.




- Ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and accessible to management.
- Business Partnership
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the management team.
- Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Project teams to improve financial performance.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new business initiatives, pricing decisions, vendor contracts, and operational changes.
- Support management with financial modelling and scenario planning.
- Translate financial data into transparent business recommendations.

Qualifications

- CA/CMA preferred; candidates with strong relevant experience and qualifications in

Finance/Accounting may also be considered.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in interiors, construction, real estate,

architecture, or another project-based business.
- Strong understanding of project costing and project-level profitability.
- Strong experience in cash-flow management, receivables, payables, and working capital.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems/ERP and advanced Excel.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and build processes in a growing organisation.
- High level of ownership, integrity, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.

Compensation: 3.6 - 4.8 LPA
