The Role:

We are hiring a Finance Controller to own finance end to end — capital, planning, controls, compliance, and the commercial judgment behind how we spend and price. You will be a member of the leadership team and the founders' closest counterpart on every decision with a number attached to it.

This is a build role, not a caretaker one. The function needs to be designed rather than inherited: the operating model, the reporting cadence, the controls, the team, and the systems that will hold at many times our current size. Expect to move between a fundraise, a pricing decision, an audit, and a hiring plan in the same week, and to be accountable for the company's financial health through all of it.

What You'll Do:

- Own the company's financial strategy — capital allocation, runway, pricing economics, and the tradeoffs behind every major bet.
- Lead fundraising end to end: investor narrative, model, data room, diligence, negotiation, and close.
- Own investor relations and board reporting, including board packs, the metrics that matter, and the narrative around them.
- Build and own the operating model and planning cycle — annual plan, rolling forecast, scenario planning, and variance accountability.
- Own SaaS unit economics as a management tool: ARR, retention, CAC, payback, gross margin, burn, and efficiency of growth.
- Own accounting, controllership, and month-end close, with reporting leadership can act on and auditors can sign off.
- Own compliance and risk across statutory, tax, regulatory,



and contractual obligations in India and our international markets.
- Lead M&A; and strategic transactions where relevant — evaluation, diligence, structuring, and integration.
- Build the finance stack and internal controls for scale: systems, process, segregation of duties, and audit readiness.
- Hire, lead, and develop the finance team, and set the standard for how finance partners with the rest of the business.
- Partner with sales, marketing, product, and engineering on pricing, spend, and the return on major investments.
- Prepare the company for the governance and reporting maturity expected at later stages, including eventual listing or exit readiness.

Requirements:

- 5–10 years in finance, including time in a senior or leadership capacity at a high-growth company — Finance Controller, Head of Finance, strategic finance lead, or equivalent.
- CA, MBA (Finance), or CFA, with depth demonstrated through the scale and complexity you have owned.
- Proven fundraising track record — you have run diligence, faced investors, and closed rounds.
- Strong command of both halves of the job: strategic finance and FP&A;, and controllership, audit, and compliance.
- Experience owning board and investor relationships, including difficult conversations with them.
- Deep understanding of SaaS or subscription economics and what genuinely drives them.
- Sound grasp of Ind AS/IFRS, Indian statutory and tax compliance, and multi-entity or cross-border operations.
- Experience building and leading a finance team,



and raising the standard of the people in it.
- Commercial judgment — you can challenge a business plan on its merits and be the partner leadership tests ideas against.
- Comfortable operating with incomplete data, fast timelines, and the ambiguity of a scaling company.
- Integrity and independence: you say what the numbers say, including when it is unwelcome.

Nice to Have:

- Finance Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent leadership experience at a venture-backed SaaS or B2B technology company.
- Experience taking a company through IPO readiness, a major audit transition, or a significant M&A; event.
- Global revenue experience — multi-currency, transfer pricing, and international entity structuring.
- Background in a global B2B business serving SMB customers.
- Hands-on comfort with BI tooling, SQL, or modern finance systems implementation.
- Use of AI tools to compress analysis, reporting, and diligence work.
- Prior experience scaling a finance function through a funding-stage step change.

How You'll Work:

You sit in our Bangalore office as part of the leadership team, with direct daily access to the founders — decisions happen in conversations you are in, not in a quarterly review. You will own your function's tooling and process, and have the mandate to replace what does not scale.
