A Field Recruiter for a blue-collar manpower vendor (staffing agency) handles high-volume, boots-on-the-ground recruitment. Unlike white-collar recruiters who sit behind LinkedIn, a field recruiter works directly in the community, industrial hubs, and labor chowks to source, screen, and deploy workers (like helpers, drivers, delivery executives, and factory operators) to client locations.
- Role Title: Field Recruiter / Field Operations Executive
- Department: Talent Acquisition / Operations
- Primary Goal: To maintain a continuous supply of blue-collar manpower and minimize client-side vacancies and attrition.
Key Responsibilities 1. Ground Sourcing & Mobilization
- Conducting ground-level sourcing activities such as canopy setups, distributing pamphlets, and organizing local recruitment drives in villages, labor hubs, and transport areas.
- Building networks with local community leaders, labor contractors, and technical institutes (like ITIs).
- Managing digital sourcing channels tailored for blue-collar workers (e.g., WhatsApp groups, local Facebook job pages, Apna, or WorkIndia).
2. Screening & Line-Up Management
- Conducting spot-checks, face-to-face screenings, and basic eligibility interviews regarding physical fitness, shift flexibility, and location comfort.
- Ensuring the targeted "line-up" (number of candidates presenting for work) meets daily client deployment requirements.
3. Verification & Onboarding
- Collecting and verifying basic KYC documents,
including national IDs (Aadhaar, PAN, voter cards), bank account details, and driving licenses.
- Coordinating medical checks or police verifications where mandatory.
- Facilitating basic onboarding and deployment to ensure candidates successfully report to their designated client sites.
4. Client Coordination & Attendance Support
- Working closely with plant supervisors or client HR teams to gauge daily workforce requirements.
- Intervening on day-one deployments to handle high initial dropout rates, checking on deployed personnel, and addressing immediate worker grievances regarding wages or basic facilities.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintaining a local candidate database for future seasonal scaling.
- Submitting basic daily MIS reports tracking metrics like planned line-ups, actual joiners, and day-one absenteeism.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma, 12th Pass, or Any Graduate. (Practical field capability matters more than degrees).
- Experience: 1 to 5 years in high-volume blue-collar recruitment, field sales, or field operations.
- Mandatory: A personal two-wheeler and valid driving license are required for daily local travel.
- Language Skills: High proficiency in the local regional language and Hindi is essential to effectively build trust with the target workforce.
- Key Traits: High energy, negotiation skills, and resilience against sudden candidate dropouts.
