Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Coffee Factory Manager to lead the end-to-end operations of our coffee manufacturing facility in Mangalore.
The role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining consistent coffee quality, productivity, timely dispatch and compliance with food-safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Factory & Production Operations
Manage day-to-day operations of the coffee processing/manufacturing facility. Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on demand.
Oversee coffee processing activities such as roasting, grinding, blending, extraction/processing and packaging, as applicable to the plant.
Ensure production targets are achieved within agreed quality, cost and delivery parameters.
Monitor production yield, wastage, downtime, machine utilisation and overall productivity.
Maintain production records, batch records and shift reports.
1. Quality & Food Safety
Ensure consistent quality of green coffee, roasted coffee and finished products. Work closely with QA/QC teams to maintain product specifications and batch consistency.
Ensure adherence to applicable FSSAI, HACCP, GMP and company food-safety requirements.
Ensure SOPs, hygiene standards and quality-control procedures are followed throughout the factory.
Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints and production non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
1. Manpower & Team Management
Lead production, packing, warehouse and support teams. Plan manpower requirements according to production schedules.
Allocate responsibilities, manage shifts and monitor employee performance.
Train employees on SOPs, safety, hygiene, quality and equipment operation.
Build a disciplined, productive and safety-focused factory culture.
1. Raw Material & Inventory Management
Ensure availability of green coffee, packaging materials and other production inputs. Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for timely material availability.
Monitor material consumption, stock accuracy, wastage and batch traceability.
Maintain optimum inventory levels and minimise stock losses.
1. Maintenance & Engineering
Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of roasting, grinding, processing, packing and utility equipment. Minimise machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Work with engineering/maintenance teams on preventive-maintenance schedules.
Support installation, commissioning and improvement of machinery and production systems.
1. Cost & Productivity Improvement
Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Improve manpower and machine utilisation.
Reduce production losses, rework, wastage and downtime.
Drive continuous-improvement initiatives and manufacturing best practices.
1. Warehouse & Dispatch
Coordinate with warehouse, sales and logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch. Ensure finished-goods availability as per customer requirements.
Maintain proper storage, FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable and batch traceability.
Ensure dispatch documentation and inventory records are accurate.
1. Compliance, Safety & Reporting
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. Maintain high standards of workplace safety,
hygiene and housekeeping.
Conduct regular factory inspections and identify operational risks.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports for management.
Track KPIs including production output, yield, wastage, downtime, OEE, quality deviations and on-time dispatch.

Candidate Profile
Education: Degree/Diploma in Food Technology, Food Processing, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Ideally 7–12 years of experience in factory/plant operations, preferably in coffee, food processing, FMCG, beverages or a similar manufacturing environment.
Robust experience in production planning, manpower management, quality, maintenance coordination and inventory control.
Knowledge of coffee processing/roasting would be highly preferred.
Knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, HACCP and food-safety practices.
Strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good understanding of production MIS, ERP and Excel.
Willingness to work in a hands-on factory environment and manage shifts when required.
