Job Role: Fabrication Material Planning & Layout Engineer The candidate should be responsible for:

- Material Layout Planning

- Prepare plate, pipe, angle, channel, beam and other material layouts.

- Optimize cutting layouts to minimize material wastage.

- Prepare nesting plans for CNC/plasma/laser cutting where applicable.

- Fabrication Drawing Review

- Study fabrication and GA drawings.

- Identify material grades, thicknesses, dimensions and quantities.

- Prepare material requirements from drawings/BOM.

- Material Utilization

- Plan how standard-size plates/sections should be utilized.

- Track leftover/scrap material.

- Maintain a usable remnant material register.

- Production Coordination

- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Production and Stores.

- Issue material requirements according to the production sequence.

- Ensure material is available before fabrication starts.

- Cutting Plan

- Prepare cutting lists.

- Give clear instructions to the cutting team.





- Check actual consumption against planned consumption.

- Material Reconciliation

- Compare Drawing Quantity → Planned Quantity → Issued Quantity → Actual Consumption → Balance/Scrap.

- Identify excess consumption and wastage.

- AutoCAD Work

- Prepare 2D layouts and cutting drawings in AutoCAD.

- Modify layouts based on production requirements.

- Maintain proper revision control.

Minimum skills I would look for

- AutoCAD – mandatory

- Valuable understanding of MS plates, pipes, beams, channels, angles, flats, SS materials

- Fabrication drawing reading

- Material estimation

- Plate nesting/cutting optimization

- Basic knowledge of CNC/plasma cutting

- Excel

- Understanding of fabrication processes

- 2–5 years fabrication/material planning experience would be suitable.

Pay: ₹22,500.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
