About World Salon

World Salon produces expert panel discussions on technology, business, policy and markets. We run more than 100 events a year with speakers from companies like Oracle, Google, Meta, Amazon, Citigroup and McKinsey, and from leading universities. Universities, companies and associations commission us to design a panel around a question their audience cares about, recruit the right experts, run the live discussion, and turn it into articles, short video and social content.

We are small, bootstrapped and founder-led. You would own the events themselves and the relationship with the clients who commission them.

The role

This is a producer role in the conference-industry sense (Conference Producer). For each event you research the topic, write an agenda senior people want to join, find and secure the right speakers, keep the client informed and confident, run the logistics, and make sure the recording turns into content within days. You will carry 8 to 12 events at different stages at any time, so the job rewards people who are organized by temperament and write quickly and well.

What you will do

- Own each event from client brief to published content: topic research, session description, speaker research and outreach, confirmations, prep calls, run of show, live support on Zoom, and handoff to our content pipeline.
- Research: build a working point of view on a current topic in one to two days, and write a session description that makes a busy expert want to be on the panel.
- Speaker acquisition: identify the 20 to 40 people whose title and work genuinely match the topic,

write personalized invitations, run a disciplined follow-up cadence, reply to every response within 24 hours, and handle referrals and declines gracefully so they become future yeses.
- Client engagement: weekly updates, alignment on goals and format, a clean run of show, and a post-event recap with attendance and content metrics. Notice when a client is ready for the next event and tell the business development team.
- Operations: Zoom setup, registration and reminders, speaker tech checks, recordings and transcripts, speaker thank-you packets within 48 hours of the event.
- Keep the speaker database and CRM accurate: who was invited, who replied, who said yes, who to invite next time.

What we are looking for
- 2 to 5 years as a conference producer, program manager, events or community coordinator, expert-network or research-engagement associate, research analyst, or account manager, ideally at a conference organizer, expert network, B2B media company, university program, or professional-services firm.
- Excellent written English. Most of this job is email to professors, partners at law and consulting firms, and executives. Your writing must be short, specific and error-free.

- Confident spoken English for client calls and speaker prep calls.
- Genuine curiosity about business, technology, finance and policy, and the ability to get up to speed on an unfamiliar topic fast.
- Organized across many parallel projects, with a tracker you actually keep current. Google Workspace, Zoom, and a CRM or Airtable or Notion should feel like home.
- At least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern working hours on a fixed schedule, plus availability to support live events during US daytime a few times a month.

Nice to have
- Experience securing senior speakers or experts for conferences, webinars or expert-network calls.
- Experience working with universities or executive-education programs.
- Familiarity with email outreach tools (GMass, Mailchimp, Lemlist) and with LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Basic editing skills for recaps and social posts.

What we offer
- Monthly pay in USD of $1,020 to $1,700 as a full-time contractor, paid through Deel or Remote.
- Fully remote, with a fixed schedule agreed up front.
- Direct work with the founder and real ownership of the product clients pay for.
- Constant exposure to senior people across industries, and a growing portfolio of events you can point to.

How to apply Apply with your CV. Inside your resume, or in a short note attached to it, include one paragraph pitching a panel on a topic of your choosing: the session title, a two-sentence description, and three named speakers with one line each on why they are the right people. We read the paragraph first.
