Job Summary

NIED is hiring a hands-on EV Battery Trainer for its Industry 4.0 Skill Development Programme.

The trainer will be responsible for conducting theory as well as practical training in Electric Vehicle battery technology, including Li-ion batteries, battery packs, Battery Management Systems (BMS), charging systems, battery testing, diagnostics, maintenance, safety and troubleshooting.

This is a practical training role, and candidates should be comfortable independently conducting laboratory/workshop sessions and demonstrating EV battery systems to trainees.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct classroom and hands-on practical training on EV Battery Technology.
- Explain Li-ion battery fundamentals, cell chemistry and battery characteristics.
- Demonstrate battery cells, modules and complete battery-pack architecture.
- Conduct practical sessions on battery pack assembly and integration.
- Explain series/parallel cell configurations and pack calculations.
- Train students on Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Demonstrate BMS functions, protection mechanisms, monitoring and fault diagnosis.
- Explain SOC, SOH, voltage, current, temperature monitoring and cell balancing.
- Conduct battery testing, inspection, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate use of multimeters and relevant battery testing/diagnostic equipment.
- Explain EV charging fundamentals and charging systems.
- Train candidates on battery maintenance and common battery faults.
- Demonstrate protected handling, isolation and working procedures for high-voltage EV battery systems.
- Conduct practical exercises, assignments, projects and demonstrations.
- Conduct theory tests, practical assessments and viva.




- Maintain lesson plans, attendance, practical records and trainee assessment records.
- Ensure proper utilisation and safety of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor trainee performance and provide remedial training where required.
- Coordinate with the Master Trainer/Project Coordinator regarding training progress and technical requirements.

Technical Skills Required Candidates should have practical knowledge of:

EV Batteries | Lithium-ion Cells | Battery Packs | BMS | SOC & SOH | Cell Balancing | Battery Pack Assembly | Battery Testing | Battery Diagnostics | EV Charging | Motors & Controllers | Electrical/Electronic Systems | Multimeter & Testing Equipment | High-Voltage Safety | EV Troubleshooting

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.

ITI candidates with strong relevant EV/battery industry experience may also be considered.

Experience

- Relevant experience in EV battery systems, Electric Vehicles, battery manufacturing/service, EV technical training or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with Li-ion battery packs and BMS is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as an EV Trainer, Battery Trainer, Technical Trainer, Service Engineer or EV Technician will be an advantage.
- Experience conducting practical training for ITI/Diploma/engineering students will be preferred.

Candidate Requirements The candidate must be comfortable with: TEACHING → BATTERY PRACTICALS → BMS → TESTING → DIAGNOSTICS → TROUBLESHOOTING → ASSESSMENT

Candidates with only theoretical knowledge and no hands-on EV battery exposure may not be suitable for this position.
