a) Responsible for design and engineering of the equipment used in an integrated steel plant covering the following:
- Knowledge of Steel plant Equipment
- Basic Engineering Calculation (Mechanical)
- Detailed Engineering Calculation (Mechanical)
- Reverse Engineering
- Manufacturing drawing preparation
- 3D & 2D (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo)
- BOQ preparation
- Understanding an analysis report (Static & Dynamic)
- Health & Safety standard b) Documentation and record maintenance of engineering deliverables & reference documents c) Ensure compliance to standards, norms and design basis of plant in areas D&E; Equipment
Key Accountabilities:
· Create design and detail engineering in line with company procedures, regulations, standards etc.
· Layout preparation of machines and components.
· Design calculation of machines (Steel plant equipment).
· Prepare technical specification for bought out items. Prepare technical evaluation report and vendor drawing approval.
· Prepare 3D model and 2D drawings in PTC Creo / Inventor.
· Analysis of equipment for static structural, thermal, fatigue thru Ansys.
· Preparation of SAP/PLM bom and checking.
· Checking and releasing of manufacturing drawings of equipment and it’s component.
· Collaborate and communicate with different departments like manufacturing, procurement, projects, inspection and quality etc.
· Prepare and record documents as per ISO procedures.
· Incorporate customer feedback and learnings while developing the current machines
· Ensure error free drawing release incorporating all GD&T.;
· Technical discussion with customer for development and clarifications.
Location - Any applicable company location as per business requirement(s)
· Knowledge of machine design, strength of material, metallurgy.
· Basic knowledge of Iron making and steel making processes.
· Manufacturing process like fabrication, welding, machining, heat treatment etc.
· Knowledge of selection of materials based on the application.
· Different codes and standards like IS, BS, DIN, ASME etc.
· 3D modelling in Creo/ Inventor and 2D detailing.
· Knowledge of Autocad.
· Good understanding of product life cycle management (PLM windchill)
Minimum Qualification: BE/B.Tech Equivalent in any discipline.
