The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working across the tech stack, from backend systems and APIs to frontend user interfaces, ensuring a seamless integration of AI models into production ready systems. The candidate will need to demonstrate he or she has a strong technical background, is curious, and has exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities include:

- Build scalable web and cloud-based applications integrating generative AI models.
- Build and maintain an agentic architecture, APIs, and microservices using technologies such as Python. Develop user friendly, responsive user interfaces using technologies such as React.

Implement best practices for secure and scalable application design, data storage, and API handling.

Work closely with cross-functional team members, including Product Owners, Scrum Master, Lead Data Architect, UI/UX, and Application Owners to ensure the end-to-end delivery of user stories.

Participate in Scrum ceremonies and actively maintain your cards on the scrum board.

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all systems and processes.

Skills and Abilities

Proficient in backend development using Python.

Strong experience with frontend frameworks using React.

Hands-on knowledge and experience with Azure Cloud.

Build and manage data pipelines ensuring high-quality data is available for AI model training and deployment.

- Experience working with structured and unstructured data that span across SQL databases and NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB.
- Proficient with API development and management.
- Experience working with version control tools like GIT. Experience in using and implementing open-source large language models such as Llama, Mistral, GPT, and assorted embedding models.

Experience doing prompt engineering.

Experience working with agile delivery methodologies and working in an agile delivery team.

Curious. Stays abreast of current and upcoming technologies and tools.

Nice to have skills

Working knowledge of Azure Cloud services like AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), ACA (Azure Container Apps) and Function Apps.

Good understanding of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) roles in Azure.





Experience in deploying CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines.

Experience Deploying Apps using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in Azure.

Experience developing and delivering event driven architecture.

- Assists in testing and debugging tasks.
- Executes manual tests to ensure the functionality of web applications and identifies bugs or errors in the code.
- Uses debugging tools to troubleshoot issues and reports findings to senior team members.
- Learns foundational testing practices and develops skills in identifying and resolving common coding errors.
- Assists in code reviews and works with team members to maintain consistent and organized development.
- Supports the team in maintaining an organized codebase and improving collaboration techniques to ensure smooth integration of code changes.
- Supports the development and integration of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enable communication between front-end and back-end systems.
- Assists in creating APIs using server-side technologies and helps integrate third-party APIs for added functionality.
- Handles data requests and responses, following guidance from senior developers to ensure efficient and accurate API integration.
- Assists in the development of web applications, primarily focusing on basic front-end and back-end tasks under guidance.
- Works with programming languages to help build responsive user interfaces and integrates simple back-end solutions using server-side technologies.
- Learns and applies foundational concepts in web development, following established coding practices to deliver functional features and user interfaces.
- Assists in the deployment of web applications using basic tools and processes.
- Follows deployment instructions and works under supervision to ensure applications are properly released to production environments.
- Monitors application performance after deployment and escalates issues to senior developers.
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.



Min 2 to 3 years of experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
