Engineering Lead Axway API Management

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead specializing in Axway API Management to design, develop, configure, and support API-based integration solutions. The role involves owning technical decisions, API integration design, platform configuration, security, lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and production support.

The candidate will work closely with application teams, architects, cloud teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and high-performing API integrations across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and external systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Axway API Management and API integration.
- Own technical decisions related to API integration design, development, configuration, and implementation.
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain API integrations using Axway API Management solutions.
- Configure and support Axway API Gateway and API Manager components.
- Develop and manage REST and SOAP APIs, including API policies, routing, security configurations, and data transformations.
- Implement API lifecycle management covering API publishing, versioning, monitoring, governance, and support.
- Implement API security using authentication, authorization, OAuth, digital certificates, and encryption.
- Troubleshoot API failures, connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Analyze logs and identify root causes of integration and API-related issues.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, architecture, development, and business teams to ensure successful integration delivery.
- Apply enterprise integration patterns, middleware concepts,



and cloud integration architectures.
- Improve API performance, reliability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to integration and architecture decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior team members on Axway tools, API integration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Follow Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, version control, and deployment practices.

Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with Axway API Management Platform
- Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience
- Strong experience with Axway API Gateway and API Manager
- Hands-on REST/SOAP API integration experience
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education
- Willingness to work from the Hyderabad office
