About the Team and the Role

The Quality, Plant Quality team at Ather is responsible for managing manufacturing quality, establishing containment actions, driving root cause analysis, and continuously improving manufacturing KPIs and field reliability.

This role is for a Plant Quality - Manager (Electric & Electronic) who will lead problem-solving for electrical and electronic manufacturing issues, implement containment and error-proofing solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product bugs and field issues.

Responsibilities

- Understand and resolve critical manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving frameworks such as 8D, DMAIC, and RedX.

- Establish and maintain immediate containment actions to ensure seamless manufacturing line operations.

- Collaborate with Customer Quality and Design teams to perform detailed root cause analysis on internal and external product issues.

- Provide actionable technical feedback and inputs to Design and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) teams for effective problem resolution.

- Work with cross-functional swimlanes (CFT) to systematically address and resolve manufacturing bugs.

- Identify and drive targeted quality projects to elevate key manufacturing performance indicators (KPIs).

- Proactively drive initiatives to lower field issues across 1MIS, 3MIS, and 6MIS metrics and reduce total warranty costs.

- Execute full bug analysis, implement Poka-Yoke (error proofing), and establish both short-term and long-term countermeasures.

Experience and Qualifications

- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology.

- 6 to 10 years of Quality Assurance experience in the automotive or high-volume EMS manufacturing industry.

Must Have Competencies





- Solve complex manufacturing issues utilizing quality control tools, Six Sigma (DOE, DMAIC), RedX, and 8D frameworks.

- Diagnose and resolve electrical, low-voltage, and high-voltage system faults, including wiring open circuits, short circuits, and insulation breakdowns.

- Analyze power electronics systems including IGBTs, MOSFETs, and motor inverters to resolve torque or thermal issues.

- Apply data analytics and predictive modeling approaches to execute data-driven quality decision-making.

Positive to Have Competencies

- Debug communication bus protocols such as CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, and I2C using software like CANalyzer or CANoe.

- Isolate component-level failures on SMT and through-hole PCB assemblies using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

- Inspect, test, and update electronic systems, components, wiring schematics, and cable management assemblies.

- Tracing embedded systems execution and debugging basic firmware operational issues.
