This is a build-and-design role, not a helpdesk/ops role. We need someone who can own the technical migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 across the estate and assist to re-architect the virtual desktop workplace for scale, performance, and cost not just BAU support operations.
Responsibilities:
Windows 11 Migration
•Design and execute the end-to-end Win10→Win11 migration strategy (compatibility assessment, application packaging/remediation, pilot rings, rollback plan)
•Build and validate Autopilot/MDT/SCCM (or Intune) deployment pipelines for image builds and OS upgrades at scale
•Define and enforce security baseline (CIS/DISA STIG or client policy) as part of the build
VDI Architecture & Improvement
•Own the technical architecture of the virtual desktop environment (Citrix / VMware Horizon / Azure Virtual Desktop / Windows 365 — specify which stack)
•Re-design current VDI environment for performance, scalability, and cost optimization (image management, golden image lifecycle, profile management/FSLogix, storage/compute sizing)
•Design non-persistent vs.
persistent desktop strategy aligned to user personas
•Lead capacity planning and DR/resilience design for the VDI platform
•Produce architecture documentation, HLD/LLD, and present design decisions to stakeholders
Profile:
•Minimum Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
•6-7 + years of hands-on experience
•Experience in Banking industry
•Proven track record designing/architecting an EUC or VDI environment — not just administering one
•Deep hands-on with at least one major VDI platform (Citrix, VMware Horizon, AVD, or Windows 365)
•Hands-on scripting/automation — PowerShell mandatory; experience with Intune/SCCM/Autopilot deployment engineering
•Experience leading a Windows 10→11 migration at enterprise scale (not just "did some upgrades")
•Strong grasp of imaging, application packaging (MSIX/App-V), and profile management (FSLogix)
