Responsibilities
- Understand high-level system requirements, detailed low-level Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), and detailed software design documents.
- Manage change requests as per defined development processes.
- Develop embedded software for Powertrain ECUs in ICE, Hybrid, and Electric Vehicles.
- Develop and integrate AUTOSAR Classic Platform communication stack modules including COM, PduR, CanIf, CanTp, DCM, and NM.
- Configure, validate, and troubleshoot UDS/OBD related services.
- Handle Signal configuration language (ComScl), Diagnostic communication protocols, etc.
- Implement and validate communication error handling mechanisms such as NRCs, Signal Conversion, Afterrun behavior, etc.
- Understand, create, and maintain DBC files, develop CAPL/Python scripts, and perform CAN communication testing using Vector CANoe and CANalyzer tools.
- Define and execute unit testing, functional testing, SIL, HIL, and LabCar validation activities along with debugging and issue fixing.
- Work with SCM tools, build and integration processes, and follow SDLC/automotive development processes including COMSTACK concepts.
- Expertise required in Embedded C programming, AUTOSAR architecture, debugging skills, and automotive ECU communication development.
- Familiarity with software development processes such as ASPICE/V-Model.
- Knowledge of Python scripting for automation; interest in AI-driven automation and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and execute unit-level and functional test cases in alignment with defined software quality and validation processes.
- Perform diagnostic testing (such as DIDs, IOCBLI, and RIDs).
- Analyze test results to identify defects and inconsistencies and collaborate with software development teams for timely issue resolution.
- Support root cause analysis by actively participating in debugging and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure test coverage, traceability, and compliance with automotive standards and project requirements.
Required Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C programming (mandatory).
- Solid working knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and concepts (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, and FlexRay, UDS/OBD related services.
- Experience in embedded software development for AUTOSAR Diagnostics, including:
- UDS (ISO 14229)
- DSM / OBD-on-UDS (ISO 15031, SAE J1979) (mandatory)
- Strong debugging skills with hands-on experience using debugger tools (mandatory).
- Experience working with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools and testing tools (e.g., RTRT, TPT).
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency with industry tools such as INCA and Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL).
- Working knowledge of Closed-loop and/or Open-loop LabCar / HIL testing environments.
Additional Skills (Positive to Have)
- Experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Familiarity with ASPICE compliance and processes.
- Basic understanding of Power Electronics and Drives domain.
- System-level knowledge of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles.
