Our mission is to develop innovative solutions that enhance the reliability, performance, and reach of up-to-date communication networks. With a global presence and a diverse team of passionate engineers and industry experts, we strive to push the boundaries of what is possible in wireless and wired communication systems.
Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity drives us to deliver cutting-edge products and services that meet the evolving needs of our customers worldwide.
About The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Staff Engineer specializing in Embedded Software to join our dynamic team based in Bangalore. In this senior technical leadership role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and architecting firmware for next-generation Smart RF Amplifiers, Nodes, and Remote Telemetry Modules. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging software engineering with RF hardware design, ensuring the seamless integration of firmware with complex hardware platforms.
You will lead the development of ARM-based MCU/MPU firmware, operating at both bare-metal and RTOS levels, and will play a pivotal role in the implementation of low-level drivers, RF control algorithms, and wireless telemetry solutions. Collaboration with our US-based hardware, RF, and firmware teams will be a daily activity, enabling the successful deployment of innovative communication solutions that meet industry standards such as DOCSIS 4.0 and IoT edge nodes.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. You should have at least 8+ years of embedded software engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership capabilities as a technical lead or Staff Engineer. Deep expertise in ARM Cortex architecture,
assembly language, linker scripts, and advanced C/C++ programming is essential.
You must have comprehensive knowledge of RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or ThreadX, as well as experience working with bare-metal firmware architectures.
Practical experience with RF hardware components—including attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers—and hands-on implementation of AGC algorithms is required. Familiarity with LoRaWAN protocols and managing sub-GHz wireless transceiver modules will be highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics, understanding component datasheets, and utilizing hardware debugging tools such as Keil, GDB, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
Strong collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with cross-functional teams across geographies, particularly with US-based hardware, RF, and firmware engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and optimize low-level firmware for ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A microcontrollers and microprocessors, ensuring efficient operation on RTOS platforms or in bare-metal environments.
- Implement and fine-tune RF control and signal processing algorithms, including AGC, ALC, digital attenuators, and equalizers to enhance RF gain stages.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and RF design teams by interpreting schematics and guiding pinouts, power management, and peripheral routing for hardware integration.
- Develop robust peripheral drivers over I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO interfaces to control RF chips, sensors, and power management components.
- Design, integrate,
and maintain LoRaWAN stacks and application layers to facilitate remote monitoring, telemetry, and long-range low-power communication.
- Lead initial board bring-up on custom prototype PCBs, performing hardware/software co-debugging using industry-standard tools such as Keil, GDB, logic analyzers, and RF spectrum analyzers.
- Optimize system memory maps, write efficient code, and manage heap/stack usage to meet real-time deterministic performance requirements.
- Drive software quality through modern development workflows utilizing version control systems like Git/GitHub and project management tools such as Jira.
