PRAD builds products for demanding industrial and emerging medical applications. Reliability, traceability, and disciplined engineering are core to this role.

Role Summary

You will design and optimize electronic hardware across multiple product lines - from concept through validation and manufacturing. The work spans circuit design, PCB development, board bring-up, and integration with embedded systems, while ensuring reliability and readiness for certification and production.

Responsibilities

System & Architecture

- Lead hardware architecture and design activities for industrial safety and medical systems (microprocessor/microcontroller).
- Evaluate components and technologies (sensors, MCUs, radios, power solutions) and document trade-offs.
- Develop, review, and maintain hardware design documents (schematics, BOM, design calculations).

Design & Development

- Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
- PCB layout with focus on signal integrity, EMI/EMC, grounding, creepage/clearance, and manufacturability.
- Work closely with firmware and mechanical teams to ensure system-level integration.
- Maintain design history, traceability, and controlled change management.

Verification, Debug & Optimization

- Lead board bring-up with structured test plans with the testing team.
- Perform failure analysis using FMEA, margin reviews, and reliability methods.
- Resolve and debug circuit issues, iterate thoughtfully, and back decisions with test data.

Compliance & Industrialization

- Design with applicable IEC, EMI/EMC,

ESD, and safety standards.
- Support certification documentation and technical reviews.
- Contribute to NPI builds, test fixtures, diagnostics, and production transfer.
- Manage BOM cost, alternates, lifecycle risk, and supply continuity

Required Qualifications

- Strong fundamentals in analog/digital circuits, filters, op-amps, power systems, and low-power design.
- Experience with microcontroller-based systems and embedded integration.
- Hands-on experience in board bring-up, testing, and structured debugging.
- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC concepts and product-level testing.
- Proficiency with EDA tools (KiCad / Altium/OrCAD) and simulations (LTSpice/TINA).

Preferred Experience

- Collaboration on PCB layout and familiarity with IPC guidelines.
- Experience with battery-operated medical and industrial product design.
- Sensor integration and signal conditioning.
- Power management, regulators, battery systems, and efficiency optimization.
- Exposure to RF domains (BLE, Wi-Fi, NFC, LoRa, LTE, NB-IoT, etc.).
- DFM/DFT practices and experience coordinating with manufacturing partners.
- Familiarity with project tracking and version control for engineering artifacts.

Skilled Attributes

- Systems-oriented thinking, beyond individual circuit design.
- Clear documentation of assumptions, decisions, and test results.
- Ability to balance rigor with practical delivery and timelines.
- Strong coordination across cross-functional teams.
