2. Role Summary





Sedin Technologies is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in BIM and Industrial Plant Projects to join our Sedin Engineering division, based out of Chennai in a hybrid working arrangement. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical design, Revit-based BIM modelling, and industrial facilities, covering power distribution systems, LV/MV design, lighting, cable routing, and multi-discipline coordination. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-impact projects including Data Centers, Industrial Plants, Oil & Gas facilities, and Manufacturing environments while collaborating with global engineering teams.

3. Key Responsibilities

Prepare Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and Control Drawings for industrial and BIM projects.

Perform Electrical Load Calculations and prepare Load Schedules; design LV/MV power distribution systems, MCCs, PCCs, transformers, switchgear, UPS, VFDs, and protective devices.

¢ Develop Electrical BIM Models using Autodesk Revit, including cable tray routing, conduit modelling, electrical equipment modelling, lighting layouts, power layouts, and electrical room layouts.

¢ Prepare cable schedules, earthing layouts, cable tray layouts, BOQ/BOM, and equipment schedules.

¢ Perform Lighting Design and Calculations using DIALux; ensure layouts comply with applicable standards and project specifications.

¢ Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, HVAC, Instrumentation, Civil, and Structural teams to ensure integrated, clash-free design delivery.

¢ Review P&IDs;, equipment layouts, HVAC drawings, and multidisciplinary engineering documents to ensure design alignment.





¢ Support RFQ preparation, vendor drawing reviews, technical evaluations, and project documentation.

¢ Apply relevant electrical standards including NEC, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, NEMA, UL508A, BS, and IS across all deliverables.

¢ Maintain drawing revision control and engineering documentation in line with company and project standards.

4. Required Qualifications & Skills

¢ B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE).

¢ 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical design for BIM and industrial plant projects.

¢ Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical) and AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical for BIM modelling and drawing production.

¢ Strong expertise in Electrical SLD & Schematic preparation, Load Calculations, Load Schedule preparation, and LV/MV power distribution design.

¢ Hands-on experience in Cable Tray & Conduit Routing, Electrical Equipment Modelling, Lighting Layouts, DIALux calculations, and BOQ/BOM preparation.

¢ Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multi-discipline engineering teams and liaise with vendors and stakeholders.

¢ Sound knowledge of industrial electrical design including MCCs, PCCs, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and VFDs.

¢ Familiarity with BIM Coordination workflows and multidisciplinary clash detection.

¢ Knowledge of applicable standards: NEC, NFPA, IEC, IEEE, NEMA, UL508A, BS, and IS.

5. Preferred / Nice to Have

¢ Project experience in Data Centers, Power Stations, or Oil & Gas / Process Plants.

¢ Background in Industrial Plants, Chiller Plants, AHU Systems, or Manufacturing Facilities.

¢ Experience working with global or cross-functional engineering teams on multidisciplinary BIM projects.

¢ Exposure to RFQ preparation, vendor drawing reviews, technical evaluations, and P&ID; interpretation.
