: EHS & Safety Officer
Position Overview The EHS & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting a safe workplace culture, mitigating risks, and implementing safety practices across the organization. The role focuses on proactive measures to maintain a safe and sustainable work workplace while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Environmental Management
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Monitor and manage waste disposal processes, hazardous materials, and pollution control systems.
Develop and oversee environmental sustainability programs, including energy conservation and resource optimization.
Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments.
Maintain documentation related to environmental compliance and reporting.
2. Health & Safety Management
Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other safety standards.
Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports.
Monitor occupational health parameters and ensure workplace ergonomics.
Conduct health and safety risk assessments and develop action plans for improvement.
3. Training & Awareness
Plan and deliver training sessions on safety procedures, first aid, fire safety, and emergency response.
Promote safety awareness programs to instil a culture of safety among employees.
Provide guidance on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Emergency Preparedness
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation protocols.
Organize and oversee mock drills for fire, medical emergencies, and other scenarios.
Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and external agencies.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain records of all safety inspections, audits, and incidents.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including permits and licenses.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and management.
Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety.
6. Risk Management
Identify and analyses potential safety and environmental risks.
Recommend and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks.
Continuously monitor safety performance and suggest improvements.
Key Competencies
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to conduct effective safety training and awareness programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams.
Detail-oriented and organized to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in preparing reports and maintaining accurate documentation.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
Experience
2-3 years of experience in EHS or Safety roles, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial settings.
Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
