Qualifications—Diploma/B.Sc. in Cardiac technology or Echocardiography
Department: Echocardiography
Experience: 3 years of hands-on hospital practice.
Role
- Perform echocardiography (2D Echo, M-Mode, Doppler, and Color Doppler) under the supervision of a cardiologist.
- Prepare patients for echocardiography procedures and explain the procedure to them.
- Obtain accurate cardiac images and measurements according to departmental protocols.
- Assist doctors during TTE (Transthoracic Echocardiography) and, where trained, TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography).
- Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound/echo equipment.
- Ensure proper patient identification, positioning, and documentation.
- Record and maintain accurate patient and examination details.
- Recognize technically inadequate or abnormal images and obtain additional views when required.
- Follow infection-control,
patient-safety, and radiation-free ultrasound safety practices.
- Upload/store images and reports in the hospital information/PACS system.
- Assist with emergency echocardiography when required.
- Coordinate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform routine quality checks and report equipment problems promptly.
Skills: Ability to work under pressure, and effective communication with patients and staff.
