As the organisation enters its next phase of growth, we are seeking an exceptional Director Projects to build and lead a best-in-class Project Organisation capable of consistently delivering complex renewable energy projects and M&A; transactions safely, efficiently and predictably.

Position Purpose The Director Projects is accountable for the successful M&A;, development and delivery of Blueleaf Energy's renewable energy projects across India, from Investment Committee (IC) approval through Commercial Operation Date (COD) and final handover to Asset Management .
The role partners closely with the Investment and Business Development teams during project origination and M&A; by providing technical, development and execution expertise to support project evaluation and investment decisions.
Following project acquisition or development budget approval by the investment committee the Director Projects assumes full responsibility for all project development and construction activities, including land acquisition, statutory approvals, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project close-out.
The role is expected to expand and evolve scalable organisational capability, robust governance frameworks, project management systems and execution excellence to drive Blueleaf Energy's long-term growth.
As Blueleaf Energy expands its India business, this position is expected to evolve into a broader executive leadership role and will play an important part in shaping the future Projects & Operations organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Development
Projects and technical lead in M&A; activities and project lead once development capital approval has been secured, to achieve Ready-to-Build (RTB) and COD milestones.
Responsibilities include
- Lead project development.
- Further develop and evolve the project organisation and project development and project management strategies.
- Lead land identification, due diligence, acquisition and securing of long-term land rights.
- Build relationships with landowners, local communities and government authorities.
- Secure all statutory approvals, licences and regulatory permits.
- Manage environmental, forest,
aviation and other statutory clearances.
- Coordinate transmission and grid connectivity approvals.
- Manage development consultants and specialist advisors.
- Drive project development schedules, budgets and risk management.
- Ensure projects achieve Ready-to-Build status in accordance with investment commitments.
Project Delivery Provide overall leadership for the execution of all renewable energy projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Represent the Projects organisation within the India Leadership Team and Executive Governance forums. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be an accomplished power and infrastructure leader with demonstrated success in delivering large, complex projects within the Power, and Renewable Energy sectors.
The individual should possess approximately 15–20 years of progressive experience , with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, establish scalable systems and processes, that deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen, structured problem-solving and outstanding leadership skills.
Experience
Essential
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- 15–20 years of relevant experience in the Power, or Renewable Energy sector.
- Experience across both Project Development and Project Delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Land acquisition
- Statutory approvals and permitting
- EPC project execution
- Contract management
- Project Controls
- Portfolio management
- Experience managing multiple concurrent utility-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project governance and PMO.
Preferred:
- MBA or Master's Degree.
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Experience within an IPP, Developer or integrated infrastructure organisation.
