DevOps Engineer — Linux, Networking, Coding & AWS

3-4 Years of Experience | Bengaluru, India | Full time

Role: DevOps Engineer — Linux, Networking, Coding & AWS

Level: Mid-Senior (3-4 Years)

Location: Bengaluru, India

Reports To: Department Head

Engagement Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitively benchmarked

If you've spent your time keeping Linux systems, networks, and AWS environments genuinely reliable — not just ticket-closed — this role was written for you.

axcess.io is a Top-Tier AWS Partner headquartered in Bengaluru, with active presence in the United States. We work on some of the most architecturally interesting cloud problems in the region, and we do it as a lean, senior-heavy team. You will not be sitting in queues waiting for tickets — you will be working directly alongside the Department Head from day one.

A note from the hiring manager

We are not looking for someone who has memorised command syntax. We want someone who has kept real systems up — patched a Linux box under pressure, traced a network issue back to the actual cause, and cares enough about the outcome to fix it properly, not just close the ticket. If you're quietly better than the tickets you're handed, we would very much like to meet you.

The pace here is real. The learning curve is steep. The ceiling, for the right person, is very high.

What you'll be doing

You will be embedded in client engagements where you own support end-to-end — not just the ticket in front of you. Here is what that looks like day to day:

Linux Systems Administration — Manage, patch,

and troubleshoot production Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu). You will be fixing root causes, not restarting services.

Cloud Infrastructure Support — Day-to-day operations on AWS: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS — provisioning, monitoring, and keeping environments healthy.

Network Operations — DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, security groups. You diagnose connectivity issues across on-prem and cloud, not just escalate them.

Incident Ownership — Own P1/P2 incidents end-to-end. You dig into why something broke, not just whether it's back up.

Documentation & Runbooks — Maintain SOPs so operational knowledge doesn't live only in your head.

Client Collaboration — You will interface directly with clients. Communication matters here as much as technical skill.

What we're looking for

You do not need to have done everything on this list — but you should recognise most of it and be honest about where you are:

Linux, hands-on — Real administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu), not just familiarity: shell scripting, systemd, package management, troubleshooting under pressure.

AWS foundations — Working knowledge of EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and RDS in a live environment, beyond tutorials.

Networking fundamentals — DNS, subnetting, routing, firewalls,

VPNs — you understand what you're configuring, not just how.

Coding / scripting ability — comfortable writing and reading code — Python or Bash — to automate infrastructure and operational tasks, not just click through a console.

Based in Bengaluru, or willing to relocate — this role is Bengaluru-based.

Problem-solving orientation — when something breaks, you dig in. You do not wait to be told where to look.

Nice to have

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate — evidence of structured learning.

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) — all a strong plus; we value them as evidence of structured depth, not a substitute for hands-on experience.

Scripting exposure — Python or Bash for automating the repetitive parts of the job.

What's on offer

Competitive compensation — competitively benchmarked for the right candidate.

Direct access to senior leadership — you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Department Head, not filtered through layers of middle management.

A genuine growth path — into deeper cloud and DevOps engineering as you build depth.

If this reads like something you have been waiting for, we would like to hear from you. Send us your CV, a brief note on what you have built or supported, and — if you have one — a link to anything you are proud of.
