About The Job:

- DevOps-focused cloud infrastructure engineer with solid experience in Azure, specializing in infrastructure as code, automated platform operations, VM lifecycle management, and native patching capabilities.
- Designs and implements repeatable Terraform-based infrastructure patterns, integrates cloud-native patch services such as Azure Update Manager, and establishes operational guardrails for secure, compliant, and auditable Windows and Linux server management across Azure environments.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design and implement Terraform-based infrastructure modules for Azure, including compute, networking, tagging, identity, and platform configuration.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management for Azure VMs using Infrastructure as Code and controlled deployment pipelines.
- Define provider-native patching patterns using Azure Update Manager, Azure Maintenance Configurations, dynamic scoping, update classifications, and maintenance windows.
- Establish scalable tagging, inventory, and grouping models to support automated patch deployment, reporting, ownership mapping, and exception handling.
- Integrate patch compliance data with operational dashboards, vulnerability management, monitoring, SIEM, CMDB, and change management processes.
- Create reusable CI/CD and automation patterns for infrastructure deployments, patch schedule changes, compliance checks, and controlled rollout processes.
- Assess existing Azure server estates, identify unmanaged or non-compliant machines, and define remediation paths for agent, permission, connectivity, and OS support gaps.
- Support DevOps teams with platform guardrails, reusable templates, documentation,



and operational handover for self-service infrastructure and patching operations.
- Troubleshoot failed patch deployments, missing update assessments, agent issues, private endpoint connectivity, repository access, reboot coordination, and compliance drift.
- Document architecture decisions, operational risks, automation dependencies, acceptance criteria, and implementation roadmaps for enterprise-scale cloud patching.

Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills

DevOps, Automation & Infrastructure as Code

- Terraform module design, reusable infrastructure patterns, state management, and multi-setting deployments.
- Infrastructure as Code for Azure landing zones, compute, networking, RBAC, tagging, and policy configuration.
- CI/CD integration for infrastructure deployments using controlled plan, review, approval, and apply workflows.
- PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, and automation scripting for operational tasks.
- Configuration drift detection, standardization, policy-as-code concepts, and automated compliance checks.
- Git-based change control, pull request workflows, reusable templates, and platform engineering enablement.

Azure Platform & Native Patching
- Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Arc-enabled servers for centralized machine management across Azure and connected environments.
- Azure Update Manager for Windows and Linux update compliance, scheduled patching, on-demand updates, and dynamic scoping.
- Azure Maintenance Configurations, periodic assessments, automatic VM guest patching, and hotpatching concepts.
- Azure Policy, Azure Resource Graph, Azure Monitor, Workbooks, and RBAC for governance, visibility, and reporting.
- Azure VM Agent, extensions, private networking, repository access, and operational prerequisites for managed patching.

Operating System, Governance & Operations
- Windows Server and Linux patching concepts, package repositories, update classifications, reboot handling, and maintenance planning.




- Golden images, standard operating environments, VM lifecycle management, and integration with DevOps-managed platforms.
- Patch governance, ownership models, approval rules, emergency patching, rollback considerations, and exception handling.
- Operational integration with CMDB, vulnerability management, SIEM, monitoring, incident management, and change management.
- Risk-based prioritization, compliance reporting, audit readiness, and enterprise-scale documentation standards.

Preferred Skills
- Terraform.
- GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Ansible, Packer, image factory concepts, and automated server baseline configuration.
- Security and regulatory requirements such as DORA, audit evidence, and control mapping.
