Role & responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer Pressure Vessel (PV Elite) with 4 - 6 years of experience in the mechanical design of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other static process equipment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience using PV Elite and a strong understanding of international design codes and engineering practices. The role involves close coordination with process, manufacturing, procurement, and project teams to deliver protected, efficient, and code-compliant engineering solutions.
Preferred candidate profile
- Design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, separators, storage tanks, and other static process equipment.
- Perform mechanical design calculations using PV Elite in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2 and other applicable international codes.
- Prepare fabrication Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement.
- Perform thickness calculations, nozzle reinforcement calculations, support design, and weight calculations.
- Coordinate with process, piping, structural, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Support fabrication by resolving engineering queries and reviewing design modifications.
- Assist in technical discussions with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and engineering documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in pressure vessel and static equipment design.
- Strong knowledge of
- ASME Section VIII Div.1 & Div.2
- TEMA Standards
- API 650, API 620
- EN 13445+PED
- ASME B31.3 (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with PV Elite (mandatory).
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
- Basic understanding of fabrication practices, welding, NDT, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret customer specifications, engineering standards, and fabrication requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with EPC companies, OEMs, or process equipment manufacturers will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in PV Elite for pressure vessel design and analysis.
- Good understanding of engineering documentation and quality systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective planning and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.
