- Should serve as the lead technical expert for complete seat design programs at the customer site.
- Coordinate all engineering activities related to complete seat design, including styling integration, packaging, ergonomics, safety, comfort and manufacturing feasibility.
- Drive technical discussions and decisions with the customer's engineering teams, styling and manufacturing departments.
- Guide and mentor a team of design and development engineers (offshore) to ensure adherence to technical specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and technical problem-solving sessions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant automotive regulations (e.g., ECE, FMVSS) and internal customer standards.
- Oversee the creation and release of 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation.
- Proactively identify customer needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Present technical solutions, project updates, and progress reports to the customer.
- Effectively communicate customer requirements and feedback to the internal engineering teams.
- Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Contribute to the creation and tracking of project timelines and milestones
- Identify potential roadblocks and proactively develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure deliverables meet customer quality standards and are delivered on time
- Support the integration of seat designs into the overall vehicle architecture.
