Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end pathology laboratory operations, including sample collection, processing, testing, reporting, and dispatch.
- Ensure adherence to defined TAT, quality, productivity, and operational KPIs.
- Monitor and improve laboratory workflow to enhance efficiency and minimize errors/rework.
- Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO 15189, regulatory, safety, and organizational quality standards, as applicable.
- Drive quality control and quality assurance processes and ensure timely corrective/preventive actions.
- Manage laboratory staff, including manpower planning, recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and productivity.
- Coordinate with Pathologists, Technicians, Phlebotomy, Front Office, Customer Care, and other stakeholders for smooth operations.
- Monitor equipment performance, calibration, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and AMC activities.
- Ensure appropriate inventory and reagent management, including consumption monitoring and prevention of stock-outs/wastage.
- Track laboratory costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
- Review operational reports and dashboards and take corrective actions based on trends and performance data.
- Handle escalations related to quality, TAT, sample rejection, reporting, and customer/patient complaints.
- Ensure proper documentation, SOP adherence, audit readiness, and implementation of process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve patient experience, turnaround time, productivity, and laboratory profitability.
- Maintain a secure working environment and ensure compliance with biomedical waste management and laboratory safety protocols.
