Purpose of the Role The DGM – NPI Quality is responsible for ensuring robust quality assurance, compliance, and process readiness during the Recent Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. The role ensures that all new products, processes, and manufacturing systems meet defined quality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational compliance frameworks prior to SOP. This position drives proactive quality planning, audit governance, risk identification, and resolution to ensure flawless product launches and sustained quality performance.
Job Responsibility:
Quality Policy implementation and compliance
- Align NPI quality controls to corporate policy, IATF/QMS requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Standardize NPI documentation & records.
- Collaborate with Corporate Quality teams to address policy gaps and implement policy / standards update
Quality Audit Methodologies Improvements
- Plan/execute NPI‑focused audits (product & process), manage external auditors/cert bodies, and close NCs with sustainable CAPA.
- Drive standardization of NPI quality processes and practices across organisation
- Analyse audit data to identify trends, systemic issues, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, non-conformances, and recommendations.
NPI Quality Governance Across Program Lifecycle (DR0–DR5)
Establish and drive quality assurance framework across all program milestones (DR0–DR5)
Ensure quality readiness and compliance at each program gate including:
- DR0–DR1: Quality requirement definition and risk identification
- DR1–DR2: Design risk assessment and DFMEA review support
- DR2–DR3: Process definition, PFMEA, Control Plan development
- DR3–DR4: Manufacturing readiness validation and audit compliance
- DR4–DR5: SOP readiness and production validation
- Participate in program milestone reviews and ensure quality deliverables are met
- Ensure closure of quality risks prior to milestone approvals
Capability Building & Continuous Improvement
- Train cross functional teams on QFD, DOE, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, and launch governance.
- Use data-driven insights from internal audits, customer feedback, warranty data, and field quality to update standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any branch).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience.
- Strong experience in New Product Development and Launch Quality processes, including APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, and IATF. AIAG certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience in conducting process audits, product audits, and compliance assessments.
- Experience in audit management and quality risk mitigation.
- Strong understanding of and exposure to NPI processes in OEMs, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in audit methodologies and quality systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
- Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
