Key Responsibilities

Database Migration & Modernization

- Lead end-to-end migration and modernization of legacy databases to contemporary database platforms.
- Perform schema conversion, database object migration, and data validation.
- Refactor database schemas, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to improve maintainability and performance.
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless application compatibility during migration.

SQL Development & Performance Optimization

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
- Analyze execution plans and resolve SQL performance bottlenecks.
- Design and implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies.
- Improve database and application performance for high-volume transactional systems.

Database Engineering

- Design scalable and normalized database schemas based on application requirements.
- Implement database version control and automated deployment practices.
- Support zero-downtime database releases and production deployments.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and optimal database performance.

Migration Tools & Automation

- Utilize migration tools to automate schema conversion and data movement.
- Develop migration scripts and validation processes for enterprise-scale migrations.
- Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines.

Required Experience

- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in database development and application database engineering.
- Proven experience in enterprise database migration and modernization projects.
- Strong expertise in SQL development, PL/SQL/T-SQL programming, and performance tuning.
- Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or MySQL databases.
- Experience collaborating with Java, .NET, or other application development teams.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience executing 2 or more enterprise-scale database migration or modernization projects.
- Hands-on experience with zero-downtime migration strategies.
- Exposure to cloud-based database migration services (AWS/Azure).
- Knowledge of automated database deployment and version control practices.
