We are looking for a Specialist, Database & Systems Engineering, to manage and improve secure, reliable, and automated database and Linux platforms across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments. The role will focus on ensuring availability, recovery readiness, security, and lifecycle management while reducing manual effort through scripting, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code. The specialist will collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, architecture, and vendor teams to resolve complex issues, strengthen operational controls, and improve observability and platform reliability.

Your tasks

- Engineering and administering Linux platforms, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu LTS
- Administering Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database platforms
- Performing installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, backup, restore, and lifecycle activities
- Monitoring platform availability, performance, capacity, and reliability across production and DR environments
- Troubleshooting complex OS, database, storage, network, and application dependency issues
- Automating operational activities using Ansible, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, and Bicep
- Supporting hybrid cloud environments across on-premises and Microsoft Azure platforms
- Implementing security hardening, access controls, vulnerability remediation, patching, and compliance requirements
- Managing backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, failover activities, and recovery runbooks
- Driving platform modernization, standardization, observability, and automation to improve reliability and reduce operational effort

Requirements

- At least 5 years of experience operating enterprise Linux and database platforms in production environments




- Strong hands-on experience in Linux administration, scripting, troubleshooting, patching, security hardening, performance tuning, and recovery
- Practical database administration experience with at least one major enterprise database platform, with knowledge of additional relational databases
- Previous work with high availability, backup and restore, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and capacity management
- Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management, preferably Ansible, along with Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure or other public cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Working knowledge of IT service management practices, including incident, problem, change, configuration, and knowledge management
- Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to explain risks, issues, and remediation to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Robust collaboration skills across global teams, regions, and functions, with the ability to remain calm during service-impacting incidents
- Fluent English communication is required; immediate joiners and candidates currently serving their notice period are preferred
