Role Description The Data Privacy and DPDP Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing data privacy frameworks and compliance programs aligned with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and other applicable regulations. Day-to-day activities include conducting data protection impact assessments, monitoring data handling practices, and establishing policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard personal and sensitive data.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, advising leadership on privacy risks, leading staff training and awareness initiatives, and coordinating with legal, IT, and operations for incident response and breach management.
The Data
Privacy and DPDP Lead will also support audits, report on compliance status, and continuously improve data governance and privacy practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust skills in Data Analytics and Data Analysis to interpret complex datasets and identify privacy-related risks and trends.
- Candidates should possess robust Data Management and Data Modeling skills to support secure data architecture, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to assess regulatory requirements, evaluate controls, and develop pragmatic privacy solutions.
- Solid understanding of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, data protection laws, and regulatory frameworks relevant to India and global best practices.
- Experience in privacy governance, information security, or risk management within government, financial services, consulting, or related sectors.
- Ability to draft and implement policies, SOPs, and guidelines, and to conduct training and awareness programs for diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent data privacy/IT governance certifications) are preferred.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Law, Information Technology, Computer
