We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Real-Time Data Engineer – Java, Flink & Kafka to join our data engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and operating scalable real-time data pipelines that support event-driven architecture, real-time analytics, and mission-critical banking workloads.

Java is mandatory for this role.

As a Real-Time Data Engineer, you will work closely with data architects, platform teams, application engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to build reliable, low-latency, and high-throughput streaming solutions using the Kafka ecosystem, Apache Flink, PySpark, and modern data platforms.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate real-time data pipelines using Java, Apache Flink, and Apache Kafka.
- Build scalable event-driven solutions for low-latency and high-throughput data processing.
- Develop and maintain Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and streaming integrations.
- Implement stream-processing logic using Flink, including event-time processing, windowing, state management, checkpointing, and fault tolerance.
- Design solutions that support reliable processing, data consistency, scalability, and exactly-once or at-least-once delivery requirements.
- Develop batch and streaming data-processing solutions using PySpark and Apache Spark.
- Collaborate with data architects and platform teams to define data models, schemas, integration patterns, and operational requirements.
- Work with schema management and serialization formats such as Avro, Protobuf, JSON, and Schema Registry.
- Monitor, troubleshoot,



and optimize production streaming pipelines, including latency, throughput, failures, data quality, and resource utilization.
- Implement logging, alerting, observability, reconciliation, and operational support processes.
- Support CI/CD, automated testing, version control, containerization, and deployment of streaming applications.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, DevOps, operations, and business teams to deliver secure and production-ready solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, runbooks, data-flow diagrams, and support procedures.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, data governance, resilience, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Big Data Engineer, or Streaming Data Engineer.
- Solid hands-on experience with Java is mandatory.
- Strong practical experience with Apache Flink and real-time stream processing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and the Kafka ecosystem.
- Experience developing low-latency and high-throughput streaming data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark and/or Apache Spark.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and real-time data processing.
- Experience with Flink concepts such as state management, event-time processing, windowing, checkpointing, fault tolerance, and exactly-once processing.
- Experience with Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, replication, producers, consumers, Kafka Streams, or Kafka Connect.
- Strong programming and data-processing skills using Java, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with data serialization and schema-management technologies such as Avro, Protobuf, JSON, or Schema Registry.
- Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, data quality, and production support.




- Experience working with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile delivery practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, or similar DevOps technologies.
- Experience with stream-processing observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.
- Familiarity with data security, access controls, encryption, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in banking, financial services, payments, fintech, or another highly regulated setting.
- Experience with real-time analytics, fraud detection, transaction monitoring, market data, or other mission-critical financial workloads.
